Introduction

High school students are in the stage of adolescence and in time in developing their

relationship towards other. Relationship is defined as the way in which two or more people or

things are connected. The school is said to be the second home of every student in which they

develop their skill, expected to have a good relationship between teacher and student. A good

relationship with teachers has a great impact to the behavior of every student. It involves emotions

as essential to learning and teaching. Teachers and students can't survive without one another

since there would be no teacher without any student that's why relationship between them is

important.

Teachers have a big role in developing the behavior of every student that is connected to the

relationship they have to their student. In Good Shepherd Academy with over a thousand of

student with different behavior towards to their teacher can affect their relationship. Good

relationships of teachers and students have a big impact to the students’ academic performance. In

relation, relationship inside and outside of the classroom has still limitation between student and

teacher. The student need to act properly based on the different aspect. The teachers need to be

more conscious on how they act toward to their student because sometimes student misinterpret

their actions that can lead to disrespect them.

Developing positive relationships between a teacher and student is a fundamental aspect of quality

teaching and student learning. Positive teacher-student relationships promote a sense of school

belonging and encourage students to participate cooperatively. Students develop confidence to

experiment and succeed in an environment where they are not restricted by the fear of failure.

Teachers are able to assist students with motivation and goal setting, and students can turn to

them for advice and guidance. The effects of teacher-student relationships have been researched

extensively, and points to how positive relationships can have good social and academic outcomes.

This research highlights the need to ensure your son is being taught by highly trained, highly
motivated teachers who are aware of the impact they have – not just on your son’s test scores, but

also on his overall development inside and outside the classroom.

The teachers - students relationship is serious matter because of the impact that will cause not just

to the student but also to the teachers. It focuses on the relationship that can affect to the behavior

of student and to know the reasons of student acts towards to their teachers. Having a good

relationship can avoid disrespect to each other, which is more important to have a good connection

in teaching and learning. The importance of having a good relationship is they can able to help

each others because teachers can learn to the students and students can learn to their teachers.

Also, the respect which is more important, as a teacher they should show some respect to their

students for the student to respect them. Nowadays, relationship between teachers and students

are important to have a strong communication.

 To inform students the right behavior towards to their teachers.

 To let the students know their limitations.

 To let the teachers know to handle their students.

 To inform both teachers and students the good effects of having a good relationship towards

each other.

 To be aware on the bad effects without a good relationship towards each other.

The researchers main purpose is to develop a good relationship between teachers and students to

avoid any kind of disrespect. There's a case that student show disrespect to their teachers because

they misinterpret the actions of the teachers towards them. The researchers want to conduct a

study showing a good relation that have a great impact to their performance at school. They will be

able to gain a lot of achievements and to develop their academic performance. The students and

teachers should aware on the attitude they have so they will be able to have a good connections to

each other. The development of every student is the development of every teacher.
 Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine teachers - students’ relationship inside the campus of Good

Shepherd Academy.

1. What are the consequences without a good relationship between teachers and students?

2. Why student disrespect their teachers?

3. Why is teacher - student relationship important?

4. What are the kinds of treatment of teachers to the students?

5. How the relationship between student and teachers manifested?

 Scope and Delimitation

This study focuses on teacher - student relationship inside the campus of Good Shepherd

Academy. All students and teachers inside the vicinity of this school are involved in our study

because this study is all about the relationship to determine the proper act of student to their

teacher and teacher to their student.

This will be conducted to students of Junior High School department and Senior High School

department. This study also pertains to the teachers of Junior High School department and Senior

High School department including the administrator of the school.

This study focuses only on the relationship of teachers and students inside the campus and not

involved outside relationship of teachers and students. Grade School students are also not

included on our research.

 Significance of the Study

The researchers believe that this study will give benefits to the following.

To the administrator: They will be able to know the reasons behind those students attitude

towards their teachers. They will be able to give some tips or rules to the teachers on how they

should handle their student properly.

To the teachers: They will be able to know why sometimes their students disrespect them. It can

help them to change their way of teaching and to change the way they communicate with the

students. They will be aware that they need to become more professionals to gain some respect.

To the students: They will be able to know their mistakes on how the way they act towards their

teachers. They can change their attitude so they can have a good relationship with their teachers.

Also they will be able to know their limitations.

To the future researchers: This study will serve as a guide for the future researchers who will also

conduct this kind of study. This will be a big help for them to conduct a research like teacher -

student relationship.
