INTEGRATIVE PROCESS

City school supports high-performance, cost-effective project outcomes through an early analysis.

LOCATION AND TRANSPORTATION

LEED FOR NEIGHBORHOOD DEV ELOPMENT LOCATION


As we know that the main campus of city school is located near OTS road, Kohat. Because of parents needs
the city school has re-opened their junior section branch in KDA, Kohat. The Bypass road was not
appropriate for their parents. KDA branch was very convenient for them.

SENSITIVE LAND PROTE CTION


The City School land has no impact on social life of people as City school is far away from the city.

HIGH PRIORITY SITE


Bypass site was the high priority of city school because it was cost effective for them. The development
constraint for them was that nobody wants to buy these lands because the people belonging to jungle Khel
claims that these lands are owned by their ancestor and now it belongs to us.

SURROUNDING DENSITY AND DIVERSE USES


The City School never worked for conserving land and protecting farmland and wildlife habitat by
encouraging development in areas with existing infrastructure.

ACCESS TO QUALITY TR ANSIT


The City School never taken any sort of initiative regarding reduction in the motor vehicle use.

BICYCLE FACILITIES
The students of City School use motor vehicle and cars for their transportation. None of them uses bicycle
for their transportation.

REDUCED PARKING FOOT PRINT


The City School has never taken any sort of initiative in minimizing the environmental harms associated
with parking facilities, including automobile dependence, land consumption, and rainwater runoff.

GREEN VEHICLES
The City School has never taken any step in the reduction of pollution by promoting alternatives to
conventionally fueled automobiles. There are no 2 stock engine cars used for transportation purpose.

SUSTAINABLE SITES

The City School has never taken any step in the reduction of pollution from construction activities by
controlling soil erosion etc.

The City School assess the site conditions before design to evaluate sustainable options and inform related
decisions about site design.

The City School never conserve existing natural areas and restore damaged areas to provide habitat and
promote biodiversity.

OPEN SPACE
The City School creates an exterior open space that encourages interaction with the environment, social
interaction, passive recreation, and physical activities.

RAINWATER MANAGEMENT
The City School never taken any step to reduce runoff volume and improve water quality by replicating the
natural hydrology and water balance of the site, based on historical conditions and undeveloped
ecosystems in the region. But there is no blockage of water over the ground because of their sewerage
system.

HEAT ISLAND REDUCTIO N


The City School has never taken any initiative in minimize the effects on microclimates and human and
wildlife habitats by reducing heat islands.

LIGHT POLLUTION REDUCTION


The City School has taken initiative in increasing night sky access, improving night-time visibility, and
reducing the consequences of development for wildlife and people.

SITE MASTER PLAN


The City School ensures that the sustainable site benefits achieved by the project continue, regardless of
future changes in programs or demographics.

JOINT USE OF FACILITIES


The City School has never taken any initiative in integrating the school with the community by sharing
the building and its playing fields for non-school events and functions.

excessive energy use by achieving a minimum level of energy efficiency for the building and its
systems.

The City School never taken any step to reduce the waste that is generated by building occupants and
hauled to and disposed of in landfills.

CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION WASTE MANAGEMENT PLANNING


The City School never taken any step to reduce the construction and demolition waste disposed of in
landfills and incineration facilities by recovering, reusing, and recycling materials.

BUILDING LIFE-CYCLE IMPACT REDUCTION


This means reusing existing building materials. City school uses the building that was previously made for
Preston university. Five points are given to this criterion as the city school fully satisfies it.

BUILDING PRODUCT DISCLOSURE AND OPTIMIZA TION - ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT


This means that using products for which life cycle information is available and that are environmentally
friendly economical and socially preferable. By life cycle information we mean that those products are used
for which date of manufacturing and date of expiry are mentioned. So, two points are given to this.

BUILDING PRODUCT DISCLOSURE AND OPTIMIZA TION - SOURCING OF RAW MATERIALS


This means that the raw materials used while constructing a building should be extracted in a responsible
manner. Some of the raw materials were extracted in a responsible way while some were not.

BUILDING PRODUCT DISCLOSURE AND OPTIMIZA TION - MATERIAL INGREDIENTS


This means that the materials that are being used in the construction shall be used to their fullest. So, the
materials are not optimized fully.

CONSTRUCTION AND DEM OLITION WASTE MANAGE MENT


This means the waste materials produced in the process of construction and remodeling of building. To
prevent this type of waste it should be ensured that materials should be ordered according to the need.
Materials should be handled carefully so that they are not damaged and wasted. Materials are wasted
during construction and demolition.

INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY

MINIMUM INDOOR AIR Q UALITY PERFORMANCE


The City School contribute to the comfort and well-being of building occupants by establishing minimum
standards for indoor air quality (IAQ).

ENVIRONMENTAL TOBACCO SMOKE CONTROL

The City School has taken step towards minimizing the exposure of building occupants, indoor surfaces,
and ventilation air distribution systems to environmental tobacco smoke.

MINIMUM ACOUSTIC PER FORMANCE


The City School has taken initiative to provide classrooms that facilitate teacher-to-student and student-
to-student communication through effective acoustic design.

ENHANCED INDOOR AIR QUALITY STRATEGIES


This means that maximum fresh air should be coming inside the building. The building is very well
ventilated

LOW-EMITTING MATERIALS
Many products in building produce harmful chemicals and toxins such as paints, refrigerators such
products should be avoided. Lot of such kind of materials are being used in this building.

CONSTRUCTION INDOOR AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT PLAN


To prevent indoor air quality problems resulting from any construction or renovation projects; to help
sustain the comfort and well-being of construction workers and building people. Indoor air quality is
controlled in this building

INDOOR AIR QUALITY A SSESSMENT


This means that the air inside the building should be clean and free of toxins it should not burn the eyes
and cause headache or dizziness. Air inside the building was clean and one felt comfortable in it.

THERMAL COMFORT
By this we mean that the minimum amount of heat in which a person feels comfortable. Thermal comfort
was present in the building not too much heat was penetrating inside the building

INTERIOR LIGHTING
By interior lightning we mean that the light present inside the building should neither be too harsh or too
dim for the eyes. One must be comfortable to see through it. The interior lightning was comfortable enough
to see through it.

DAYLIGHT
This means that maximum sunlight should be used during the day. No artificial light should be used
during the day time. Windows should be built such that maximum natural light comes inside.

QUALITY VIEWS
Windows and doors should be built such that one can have a clear view of the outside. Through this
building one can see clearly what is happening outside

ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE
By acoustic performance we mean that the quality of voice is great. Every student hears what the teacher
is saying. There is no sound coming from the outside. There should be no echo in teachers voice. Voice
quality is god in classes.

INNOVATION
The city school Kohat campus has been a milestone in terms of affiliation with Cambridge university of
UK. As its' been implementing same scheme of study as Cambridge uni. Compare to other educational
institutes, the city school has set a special criteria of book labelling and record keeping and has all the
facilities that a good library must have.

LEED ACCREDITED PROF ESSIONAL

The City School encourage the team integration required by a LEED project and to streamline the
application and certification process.

REGIONAL PRIORITY

REGIONAL PRIORITY
The city school Kohat campus has a purpose-built building which helps it to accommodates a great number
of students and different options like sensory rooms and Iris room which another institute are not
consisting of. It has facility of high voltage generators and spacious area for other requirements. It has a
large number of security guards to assure students' safety. The following are regional priorities to which
City School gives specific credit to the following factors;
