1-1 Support for new HDD (3TB NL-SAS)


Description A new HDD type is supported as follows.
Model: DKS2D-H3R0SS
Support RAID level: RAID5 (3D+1P, 7D+1P (*1), RAID1 (2D+2D (*2), RAID6 (6D+2P)

*1: Tow and four-parity group concatenation are supported.


*2: Tow-parity group concatenation is supported.

1-2 Support for new SSDs


Description SSD models of SLR5B-M400SS/SLR5B-M200SS are supported.

1 Failure of error check by write sequence number
Phenomena For SATA-E DP volumes, an error check by write sequence number
might not be performed.
Severity (High, Medium, Low) Medium
Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when all the following conditions are met.
(1) SATA-E drives are used for a DP/DT pool.
(2) The last 2 bits of data slot number is 00. (The error check is not
performed once every 4 times.)

2 Port blockage and WCHK1 due to EDC error


Phenomena When WCHK1 occurred (SIM RC= 3080xx, EC=3281) due to an EDC
error, a port was blocked.

Conditions of Occurrence The problem may occur when all the following conditions are met.
(1) RAID1 or external VOL
(2) OPEN-VOL
(3) A write I/O is issued to the same range where a read I/O is in process.

3 Failure of discovery operation for EVA with FW of VAAI

Phenomena When the firmware of EVA was updated to a version that supported
VMWare VAAI function, a discovery operation for the storage system
failed and Storage Navigator messages 00622-109016 and 00622-105251
were output.
Severity (High, Medium, Low) Medium
Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when all the following conditions are met.
(1) EVA P6500/6300 is used as an external storage.
(2) The firmware version of EVA P6500/P6300 is 10100000. (VAAI
support version)
(3) A discovery operation is performed for the above storage system.

4 Logic path blockage at PS ON or DKC addition
Phenomena At PS ON or DKC addition, a logic path of an ESW PCB was blocked
and SIM=7603 and SSB=3306 were output.

Conditions of Occurrence The problem may occur when one of the following conditions is met.
(1) PS ON is performed for a DKC with a configuration of 4 MPBs and 2
ESW PCBs.
(2) A DKC is added with a configuration of 4 MPBs and 2 ESW PCBs.

Phenomena When a chip error occurred during read I/O processing, a port was
supposed to be blocked but not blocked.

(1) A read I/O is in process.
(2) A chip error occurs.

6 SVP error message 4092E when reading spreadsheet by offline


SVP tool
Phenomena When a spreadsheet on which a value other than multiples of 4,096 was
described was read by using Offline SVP tool, an error occurred and SVP
message 4092E was output.
(The value of CLPR cache can be described in unit of 2,048MB)
Severity (High, Medium, Low) Low
Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when all the following conditions are met.
(1) A CLPR cache value described on a spreadsheet is other than
multiples of 4,096.
(2) The spreadsheet is read by using Offline SVP tool.
