Fill all nail holes with Painters Putty.

- When we fill nail holes, we make sure there are no

slivers of wood left sticking out from the holes.
-The technique we use to fill the holes is done in such
a way that the filled holes are flush with the surface of
the trim to avoid the appearance of pits after the final
application of paint has been applied.
- We prime the filled holes with an oil based spray
paint as required by the manufacturer to avoid
“flashing.” (Seeing dull or shiny spots where the holes were filled.)
Prime walls and ceilings.

-Conduct a quick inspection of the walls for areas

where the drywallers may have failed to sand.
-Knock down drywall dust using a dry mop as to
avoid having too much drywall dust mix into the
primer when applying.
-Vacuum window sills and all wall bases to avoid
dust from blowing around while sprayer is in use.
-Tape around and then plastic off all windows.
-With a professional airless spray system, we then
prime the walls and ceilings using a high build
primer designed to fill imperfections and level the
appearance of the walls.
-Primer is applied about 14mils thick to ensure a
proper seal on new drywall and to provide a good
canvas for the application of the top coat.
Paint Ceilings.

- Using a professional sprayer, we paint ceilings

with an extra white (flat) paint and back roll it in
order to spread the paint evenly across the surface
of the ceiling.
Caulk all trim work.

-The purpose of caulking trim is to fill all cracks, crevices

and joints for a seamless appearance throughout the
home.
-We also caulk all closets and windows.
-Everything caulked is done using a fine bead and is then
followed by smoothing the line of caulk over with finger
techniques, being watchful of build up in all corners and
wiping any excess with a clean wet cloth.
Paint all trim except baseboards and any chair rail.

Using a 100% acrylic latex paint, we brush all

our trim using smooth even strokes. (2 coats
semi-gloss)

We watch for drips and runs by back

checking our work as we go.

The paint we use has self leveling properties that

help mute the appearance of brush strokes,
giving the trim a superior finish.
Paint walls. (2 coats)
Concentrating on……
-Rough sanding walls prior. (Ensures
a smooth and even finish)

-Straight lines when cutting in.

-No streaks
-No bleed through
-Not hitting the ceilings
-No “Hat Banding” (Defined line where
roller meets “cut in” on walls as shown here.)

-No spatter on finished floors or

carpet.

Note: We never use blue tape or straight knives to cut in walls or trim. Our
experienced crew has been trained to learn the traditional skills of steady
hands, perfecting the art of free handing.
Paint Baseboards and any Chair rail.

The reason we save this for last is because when you roll the
walls with paint, spatter tends to fall onto chair rails and
baseboards, therefore painting these areas last saves the time
of having to re-paint or cover the chair rails and base boards
with tape and paper.
