My Speaker

By Aaliyah Silva
Research/ Design Criteria

My Goal was to create a

speaker box that is at at a
slight angle to add a little
creativity.
Project Diagrams
CAD sketchup
Materials/ Tools
● Drill ( 3 types )
● Soldering Iron
● Hot glue gun
● Amp
● 3 in tweeter
● 2: __ in woofers
● Ebony Stain
● Port & Switch
● Table Saw
● Foam
● Wire
List the major steps of the project:
1. Research designs for your speaker
2. CAD it out and determine dimensions
3. Get wood and measure out the dimensions
4. Cut Wood (or other material depending preference)
5. Make Joints in the wood
6. Glue the sides of the wood together (Wait for a day to dry)
a. Put wood puddy in cracks to make look better
7. Once dry, sand the box for a smoother surface ( I sanded my edges a little
bit to round it)
a. Chisel a little bit inside the box if needed ( the face board may not fit)
8. Stain your box to your desire( Wait for a day to dry)
9. Drill holes for your woofers in the front board
a. If you’re going to stain the front, wait until after you have drilled the holes
b. Do the same if you’re inserting a tweeter
10. Separately, wire 2 wires each to the woofers (+ to +, - to -)
a. If you have a tweeter, wire it after it’s screwed into the box
11. Screw in the speakers
12. Wire together the speaker to the amp
a. Wire the capacitor for the tweeter then to a the woofer
13. Glue in the front
14. Drill holes in the back board for the switch and port
15. Insert the switch and port and wire them to the amp
16. Test it!
17. If it works, hot glue foam inside the sides of the box
18. Close the board board to the box
19. Finished
What is the most important thing I have
learned in this project?

I have learned a bit more on the design process and I have learned what
I can do in such little time.
What do you wish you had spent more time on
or done differently:

I wish I had inserted a different switch and I also wished I did a better job staining
the first time around.
What part of the project did you
do your best work on:

I would like to say the front, but I actually did good wiring
better than I thought I would.
What was the most difficult part of this project or
what did you learn that you would do differently:

I have to say it would be getting the wood to actually fit together

because the dimensions were a little off when they got cut, so I
had to spend a moment fixing the sizes of the wood.
