We are against & NO to divorce bill because:

 It extends to the growing problem of immorality and sexually related diseases like HIV,
unwanted pregnancies.
 Divorce is the so- called choice and chance to change while in fact , it is where the so-called
“rights” is abused.
 Divorce it where many people make use of the right and abuse for their own self-centered
selfish quest for happiness and will only bring them to the same situation again and again.
That’s why you will see people divorced not just once, twice, but multiple times.
 Divorce are not actually giving people a solution to their problem, but a chance to repeat the
same mistakes. “Divorce is like a medicine … but unrecommended.”
 Divorce give a wider path for immorality and marital infidelity.
 According to our Philippine Constitution, Article 2, Section 12 provides: The state recognizes
the sanctity of family life and shall protect and strengthen the family as basic autonomous
social institution.
 Divorce is an easy way out, it’s always easier and faster to give up. The reason why there’s so
many divorced and broken families (outside the Philippines) that is, easy, peasy, sometimes
no brainer
 The Divorce Bill seeks to protect women and children from abusive husbands, or father
But are countries where divorce is legal free from domestic abuse?
 In the Philippines, 19 people fall victim of marital violence every day. In the U.S, 20 people fall
victims of intimate partner violence every minute (that’s 28, 800 every day!)
(60x24= 1,440 x 20 = 28, 800)

A Chicago study revealed that:

Divorce has lingering, detrimental impact on the health that even remarriage cannot fully
repair.
That remarrying only makes matter worse health-wise since those who remarry had
12% more chronic health conditions than those continuously married, which was slightly
less than the 20% for the divorced or widowed who did not remarry.
According to Dr. Linda Waite, a sociologist at the University Of Chicago, during divorce
or widowhood, income drops and stress develops, affecting a person’s health.
Statistic showed aside from health issues, Divorce doesn’t really guarantee happy to
happy marriage the next time around. Because Divorce rates where there’s 50%
chance of divorce at first marriage, 67% at the second marriage, and 73% at the third.
Another factsheet disclosed that 60% of those who remarried end up re-divorced. This
means that divorce Is no guarantee for getting a clean slate and finding a lifetime
partner. As Pinoy says “ WALANG FOREVER”.

BASE ON THE SURVEY IN AMERICA:

 Divorce adults are more likely to become impoverished while their children experience
psychological and economic stress hindering their social development development.
 So how is Divorce beneficial to everyone? When Divorce itself hinders society by dissolving
families and weakening belief in the family as an essential social unit. To sociologists, the
family does more than unite people by marriage and blood or adoption, it provides the
educational, financial and emotional support its members need to thrive socially.
 Divorce leads people to question whether having a family is worthwhile.
 ( BASED ON HERITAGE FOUNDATION) That children in Divorce households tend to enter
high risk marriages, these children often do not marry and start families on their own, a
phenomenon that can disturb social harmony.
 Divorce parents who remain single have less time to supervise their child’s schoolwork or
become involved in school activities.
