thoughts about the story “The Beauty and The Beast” in terms of relationships
and qualities of the character. They will discuss and follow the rules for
communication in a team, a group, etc. They will try to patiently listen to their
classmates and respect their opinion.

Step 1: Step 1: Introduction to the topic: the teacher introduces the topic. The
students have a summary of the story in their student’s books, but they were
also given the full text of the story. For homework they had to read the nine
pages of the story and to choose their favourite part in connection with
relationships between people and the members of the family.

Step 2: Step 2: The students freely share their thoughts about a part of the story that
they liked most, they tell their classmates why this particular part has drawn
their attention.

Step 3: Step 3: In the course of the discussion we elicited the main qualities of the
main characters: The Beauty, her sisters, her father and the Beast. At the same
time the students learnt some new adjectives describing personality and used
the Past Simple Tense when retelling their favourite part of the story.

Step 4: Step 4: Making conclusions.

The students made a lot of conclusions like:
• We have to respect, love and help our parents;
• Appearance is not important, we shouldn’t judge people by their
appearance;
• The story is about beauty, but this is the beauty in our soul;
• We elicited the positive quality in a personality like: to be caring,
loving, clever, hard-working, faithful etc.;
• The Beast has undergone his personality change, he has become
tender, humble, generous, warm etc.;
• Inside we are all sensitive and vulnerable;
• The students suggested their own continuation of the story;

Evaluation Teacher observations:

The students enjoyed an experience in the land of fairy tales, but at the same
time discussing some issues that are for grown-up children, they made some
very mature conclusions and rose some nowadays issues.
