National Council of Science Museums, an autonomous scientific

organization under the M inistry of Culture, Govt. of India, invites
applications for the following posts (vacancies exist in different science
centres in different parts of the country):

(a) Curator ‘B’ - 06 posts

2. Essential qualification & experience :

First class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in

Mechanical/Electronics/Information Technology OR First class
M.Sc in Physics/Life Science (Bi o-
Technology/Zoology/Botany/Environmental Science) with one-year
experience in research/design/workshop/teaching. OR
M.E/M.Tech/Ph.D (Science) in above disciplines.

3. Job Description :

Design and development of exhibits, audio-visual demonstrations,

teaching aids etc., development of museum sections on various
subjects of science & technology, organization of educational
programmes for different categories; research on history of science
& technology, museum techniques and evaluation of exhibits all
pertaining to the developmental activities of the museum/centre.
Assisting in day-to-day work and administration of the
museum/centre.

4. The posts carry all India transfer liability. Allowances such as

D.A./H.R.A/Transport allowance are admissible as applicable
under the rules.

5. The appointees of Curator ‘B’ are covered under the Flexible

Complimenting Scheme for promotion in accordance with the rules
for the time being in force.

addressed envelope (10x24 cm) affixed with postal stamp of ` 8/-
denomination superscribed on the top, “Application against

Candidates working in Government/Semi Government organizations should

send their applications through proper channel. Incomplete
applications or applications not accompanied with necessary
documents shall be summarily rejected.

7. Mere possession of requisite qualifications and experience

shall not entitle the candidates to be called for the test and
interview. Decision of NCSM in this regard shall be final.
Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence,
political or otherwise, will be treated as disqualification for
the post. Interim enquiries will not be entertained.

Note: Although the details of the advertisement for the

post of Curator are adequate, a large number of e-mails
are being received seeking clarifications as to whether
with their respective qualifications, they are eligible to
apply. In many other cases, the candidates are sending
their details as per their own made CV format by e-mail.
It may be noted that no such queries shall be answered by
NCSM as it is practically not possible. Applications not
submitted in prescribed format alongwith copies of
testimonials, photograph and fees (wherever applicable),
shall not be considered. Interested candidates are once
again advised to go through the details, download
application forms and thereafter submit signed
applications to the zonal headquarters nearer to their
places alongwith copies of testimonials and application
fees either personally or by post.
