tool, equipment and instruments.
 Before we will proceed to our proper lesson.
Allow me to state to the class our learning
objective for today:
a. understand what is preventive maintenance,
b. illustrate how preventive maintenance is
being applied in food (fish) processing tools,
equipment and instruments,
c. appreciate the importance of preventive
maintenance is being applied in food (fish)
tools, equipment and instruments.
 Let us first define what is Preventive
Maintenance.
- is routine maintenance which is designed to
prevent the need for more costly repairs.
- according to maintain X from Google,
Preventative maintenance (PM), also known
as preventive maintenance, is a type of
maintenance that’s performed regularly to
minimize the likelihood of an equipment
failure (which will result in downtime).
For example, bearings have a certain life, and
they need to be replaced after they have
operated for a specified number of hours. You
have to check bearings regularly to ensure
they don’t need replacement.
Preventative maintenance is performed when
the equipment is still in the working condition
and is aimed at taking corrective measures to
stop it from failing. It involves
several things such as cleaning equipment
and parts, lubrication, parts replacement, etc.
Maintenance is necessary as it helps you save
money on costly equipment replacement and
costly system downtimes.
 Do you understand class? Questions?  Yes Maam! No Maam!
ACTIVITY
 The class will have a film viewing on the
following:
- what is preventive maintenance
- refrigerator preventive maintenance
- pressure cooker preventive maintenance
ANALYSIS

- Yes, very good answer. the plug, if is intact, no worn wire.
 Preventive maintenance is important so that we will
know the condition of an equipment before and after
using in order to save money and time.
ABSTRACTION
 The main objective of preventive maintenance are;
- To make equipment always available and ready for use.
- To maintain the value of equipment by periodic inspections, repairs, etc.
- To reduce the work content of maintenance jobs.
- To maintain the optimum productive efficiency of the equipment.
- To maintain the operational accuracy of the equipment.
- To achieve maximum production at minimum repair cost.
- To ensure safety of life and limbs of the workmen along with equipment.
APPLICATION
 The teacher will divide the class into 6. Using their activity notebook they will list down possible preventive
maintenance according to their assigned equipment.
Group 1 – measuring tools 4 - pressure cooker
2 – cutting tools 5 - freezer
3 – thermometer 6 – weighing sale
V. EVALUATION
 The teacher will ask questions to students. Graded recitation.
VI. REMARKS
 The teacher will ask the students to do read in advance on Procedures on Standard Measuring device and
instruments.
VII. REFLECTION
 I discuss the preventive maintenance because I got confuse on the TLE 7/8 Learners manual arrangement of topics. I
thought preventive maintenance is the net topic but sadly isn’t. But it is still part of the content in the curriculum
guide.
 We didn’t able to finish the lesson, because there were 3 videos for the class to view. The abstraction and
application will be continued tomorrow 11-15.

B. No. of learners who require additional activities for
remediation who score below 80%.
C. Did the remedial lesson work? No. of learners who caught up
with the lesson.
D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation.
E. Which of my teaching strategy worked well? Why did these
work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal or
supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials did I used / discover
which I wish to share to other teachers.
