CQ Pistol V Edged Weapons

AMOK CQ Pistol V Edged Weapons

The AMOK Pistol program does not teach the fundamentals of handling firearms and is intended for
people who already possess functional handgun skills. The program can be customized to prioritize
and emphasize the client’s desired topic(s) to be delivered within any given interval of time.
Cues of Knife Carry and Accessing

How to recognize the pre-attack cues of knife attackers in their methods of concealment during
approach, various readying positions, and when attempting to access a concealed weapon.

Accessing V Grab-n-Stab Attacks

How to safely access your pistol and neutralize your attacker during fully committed grab-n-stab
tactics when grabbed by the wrist, elbow, or throat.

Accessing V Committed Knife Attacks

How to safely access your pistol and neutralize your attacker during committed knife tactics
delivered singularly, in combination, and “sewing machine” type of attacks.

ECQ Pistol V Chaotic Knife

How to neutralize knife attackers with a drawn pistol in ECQ engagement utilizing blade-based
actions that include counter-striking with the pistol, disruptive firing making use of various cant firing
positions designed to eliminate muzzle sweeping when you check hand needs to be forward of your
muzzle, controlling angle of incident in ECQ populated zones, and trigger-guard disarming.

Retention and Disarming

How to retain your drawn pistol if grabbed by a strong capable attacker and EQC disarming, with
special attention given to a properly-held two-handed trained adversary.

Access While Under Attack

It is a vital skill to safely introduce your weapon while under attack because many situations, if not
most, begin as a one-sided attack that the defender must initially manage empty-handed until they
create a moment to safely draw their weapon to dissuade or repel a renewed attack. Accessing
courses take four distinct tactical solutions to counter the varying dynamics presented by attacks
made by the blade, with grabs, unarmed attacks, and shoot-ins.

Chaotic Knife Attacks 2 hours

Safely producing a weapon during changing knife attacks that include countering jabbing strikes with
cross-punching, hard committed strikes with blocks, and fluid combinations with parries, and how to
create distance and/or time and draw & deploying your weapon.

Grab-n-Stab Attacks 2 hours

Safely producing a weapon during grab-n-stab attacks that include countering grabs made to your
wrists, inside elbows, outside elbows, and throat, and how to create distance and/or time and draw
& deploying your weapon.
Empty Hands Attacks 2 hours

Safely producing a weapon during empty hands attacks that include countering hand strikes, kicks,
and grabs, and how to create distance and/or time and draw & deploying your weapon.

Shoot-in Attacks 2 hours

Safely producing a weapon during shoot-in attacks, this course explores struggles that progresses
through stages of being taken down, and finally ending up on the ground, as well as the underlying
groundwork positions, transitions, and maneuvers to draw and deploy your weapon.

Overview 6 hours

Safely producing a weapon during varying types of attack includes how to recognize cues of
impending attack, and how to counter chaotic knife attacks, grab-n-stab attacks, empty hands
attacks, and shoot-in attacks, to draw & deploying your weapon.

Certification 12 hours

This course covers pre-engagement threat management, blade handling, salvaging ambushes, how
to counter chaotic knife attacks, grab-n-stab attacks, empty hands attacks, and shoot-in attacks, to
draw & deploying your weapon. Also covered are post-engagement topics that include First-aid,
calling 911, and effectively dealing with first responders to achieve the best possible outcome.

Empty Hands Knife Defense

This course presents an overview of the problems and solutions regarding empty hands knife
defense from capable attackers. As always, we include the always-present “what if” factor so you’ll
have contingency actions to keep things progressing in your favor.

Introduction 2 hours

The course objective is to establish a “pyramid of priorities”: engaging your protective actions, how
to counter-strike, when to grab, releasing the blade from their grasp, and finishes on how to control
your attacker while you recover his weapon.

Overview 6 hours

The course objective is to employ threat management in the pre-engagement phase, establish a
“pyramid of priorities”: engaging your protective actions, how to counter-strike, when to grab,
releasing the blade from their grasp, and how to control your attacker while you recover his weapon.
This course finishes with solutions to common hold-up positions.
Certification 12 hours

Taking the 6-hour overview to a more functional level of adaptation with additional drills and
contingencies, this course objective is to employ threat management in the pre-engagement phase,
establish a “pyramid of priorities”: engaging your protective actions, how to counter-strike, when to
grab, releasing the blade from their grasp, and how to control your attacker while you recover his
weapon. This course continues with solutions to common hold-up positions and finishes with post-
engagement topics that include First-aid, calling 911, and effectively dealing with first responders to
achieve the best possible outcome.

Self-Protection Using Knife

This course offers well-rounded self-protection of tactically-sound, legally-defensible, and socially-

responsible solutions in the pre-engagement, defense, and post-engagement phases of threatening
or violent encounters.

Introduction – 2 hours

This course presents a highly sophisticated response method to knife attacks using only three
moves. Working with a knife in reverse hold, you will employ the 3 Core Actions actions of Hooking
Over, Parrying Up, or Cutting Up to receive the incoming strike(s), Control your attacker, and execute
Disabling strikes.

Overview – 6 hours

This course presents vital elements of the pre-fight phase managing the four stages of proximity,
approach, positioning, and attack of criminal attacks. Continuing with the 3 Core Actions of Hooking
Over, Parrying Up, or Cutting Up to receive the incoming strike(s), Control your attacker, and execute
Disabling strikes. This course finishes with Disarming and an introduction to Post-engagement
protocols.

Certification – 12 hours

This course presents Pre-Engagement topics that include Types of knives, Carry/conceal, Handling,
Handshaking, and Managing Threats. The Defending topics include Accessing, Countering (3 Core
Actions), Disabling, Disarming, Takedowns, Termination, Recovery. Training finishes with Post-
engagement topics that include First-aid, calling 911, and effectively dealing with first responders to
achieve the best possible outcome.

Self-Protection Using Picks

These courses are designed to effect an escape from attackers using a pointed instrument to prevent
them from grabbing or striking you, to make the let go should they grab you, or to release you if held
in a compromising position.
Escaping Unarmed Attacks 2 hours

This course presents how to use a pen or pointed object to keep an attacker from striking or
grabbing you to create a point of escape. This course covers how to access a pointed instrument,

compromising positions where you may be pinned against something or held down. This course
covers how to access an instrument, escapes with back against a wall, escapes with face against the
wall, escapes when pinned down face-up mounted or between the legs, and escapes when pinned
down face-down.

Managing Potential Attackers

“The Best First Step in Self-Protection”, this 2-hour course emphasizes learning to control the pre-
contact phase with a well-rehearsed response in the moments before it turns physical should you be
confronted by a threatening person. This course covers how to test for honest or dishonest
intentions, to know how criminals think and operate and deny them from gaining proximity to you,
