ABSTRACT:-
An automatic regulator suitable for water level sensing and control. This enabled the entire
circuit to function as a threshold detector; thus working as an ON/OFF switch. The
proposed water level sensor was tested in real time application by using it to control the
level of water in a tank. Experimental performance results indicated that the device is quite
suitable for the desired operation, since it maintained the set maximum and minimum levels
of 50 liters and 10 liters respectively, by switching the pump on or off as required.

INTRODUCTION:-
The water level indicator uses a simple mechanism to detect and indicate the water level in
a tank or any water container. Sensing is done using 4 probes placed at 4 different levels
in a glass. The level 4 represents the “Glass full” and at this stage Buzzer produces a sound.

BACKGROUND & APPLICATIONS:-

Most water level indicators for water tanks are based upon the number of LEDs that glow to
indicate the corresponding level of water in the glass. This circuit not only indicates the amount
of water present in overhead tank but it also gives an alarm when the tank is full.

 The water level indicator is used in Hotels, Home apartments, commercial complex, and
in factories.
 Automatically the pump will switch ON/OFF when the water level in the tank is empty and
full.
 We can also measure the fuel level in motor vehicles.
 The liquid level containers are huge in the companies.

WORKING PRINCIPLE:-

The working principle of a water level indicator is actually quite simple. Water
level indicators work by using sensor probes to indicate water levels in a storage tank.
These probes send information back to the control panel to trigger an alarm or indicator. In
this project we use Resistors (220ohm), Transistors (BC 547), LEDs, Battery and
Buzzer.

 Resistor is used to control the flow of steady current.

 Buzzer is used to produce the sound to indicate that the glass is full.
 LEDs are used to indicate the different levels of water.
 Transistor is a semiconductor device commonly used to amplify or switch
electronic signals.

IMPLEMENTATION DETAILS:-

We have 3 LEDs each of which are in series with transistor by resistors of value
220 ohms. The base of each transistor will be used to determine the level of water.
For this we connect base to different level of glass through wires. Emitter is
connected with negative terminal of the battery and the collector is connected with
resistor and LEDs.

RESULT:-
Finally in the end after a lot of struggle we completed our project which is working
correctly according to our report.
