 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES PRACTICALLY HANDLED IN BATLIBOI LTD. AS


PLANNING ENGINEER

1) Receiving production plan from Divisional Manager.


2) Design and Development Department used to give BOM for each product.
3) AS per BOM generating purchase indents (PI) for each product as per quantity
mentioned in production plan and forwarding it to purchase dept.
4) Before raising such PIs for Raw Material (RM), Packing Material(PM) & Bought Out Parts
(BOP) check stock of the same in Finish Parts Store (FPS), Work In Process (WIP) and raw
material available (RMA) in Quarantine Store (QS). Purchase Indents must be placed for
Balance Qty. only after taking in to consideration FPS + WIP + RMA.
5) Also placing PIs for tools and consumables as per the requirement of machine shop.
6) Following Up with purchase department for timely delivery of ordered material.
7) Issuing Work Order ( WO ) to Production Dept. as per current month production plan.
8) Preparing and forwarding Material Issue Slip/Note (MIS/MIN) to Quarantine Store with
proper work order no. for raw material required by production dept. and preparing MIN
for Bought Out Parts required by Assembly Line.
9) Preparing Route Card for all manufacturing parts mentioning part name, drawing no.,
batch quantity, WORK ORDER No. and sequence of operation as received from Industrial
Engineering Department.
10) Offering all WIP material for stage inspection as well final inspection to QC dept. and
finally depositing the same in FPS.
11) Sending DC (Design Change) and PLC (Part List Change) request to Design and
Development dept. based on suggestions received from production dept. and assembly
line in regard of alterations to be made in parts and get the drawing and BOM updated.
12) Also plan for out sourcing ( Sub Contracting ) of parts to be made as per drawing either
on with material or on labour basis and give schedule to Vendor Development

HEAD – PURCHASE

1) Receiving purchase indents (PI ) from material planning department, reviewing it and
discuss with cross functioning depts.Understand their requirements & Floating inquiries
2) Receiving Offers, Making Comparative Statements & releasing purchase orders to
approved suppliers as per specifications, data sheet, drawing.
3) Able to develop new / alternate vendors to create healthy competition.
( for sheet metal work / fabrication work & machine components either on with material
or labor basis. )
4) Sampling and Verification of material procured from new vendor. Comparing vendor
rates , Negotiating to optimise purchase cost.
5) Close Co Ordination with vendors for ordered material status to maintain scheduled
delivery. If any deviation observed then re- schedule the delivery and giving feedback to
planning department.
6) To maintain MIS reports for purchase activities update w.r.to required production targets
7) Coordinate with stores & quality assurance dept. so that Goods Receipt Advice/Note
(GRA/GRN) for inward material is prepared & cleared in time. Process Supplier bills as
per PO and GRN, approve the same for payment and forwarding it to accounts
department.

send it back to vendor and get replacement at the earliest.
