DISCUSSIONS

This chapter will be presented the discussions of data, conclusions, and

recommendations from the results of the study.

Skill

The skill of the students are very important. This is what the students can be proud of.
Garments is very important for learning institutions teaching all about textiles to pay particular
attentions to the skill attainment of their students (Flugel, 1976). This was supported by Orkoric
(2000) who stated that something expertly and well. It is an organized sequence of action,
proficiently executed and usually displaying flexible but systematic temporal patterning. A skill
or talent is the learned capacities to carry out pre determined results often with the minimum
outlay of time or energy. Hertig (1969) also said that the distinguished factor between
knowledge and skill is that knowledge is contained in the head and skills are those that are done
by hand. Some students seen that pattern making in a paper can be quite hard due to its
perceived and actual, inaccessibility to learn. A necessary component in design, a pattern is the
base level template for every item of clothing. However, as necessary as it is to fashion design, it
is challenging and very technical aspects of the process (Eastin, 2004). Pattern drafting to the
paper or cloth requires a high degree of skill, and certain aptitudes and ambitions within the
maker, for a successful pattern to be drafted.

Versatility

Versatility of the students. According to McLean (1950) it is the ability to adapt on be

adapted to many different functions or activities, capable of or adapted for tuning easily for one
to another of various tasks, which is needed of the students in garment trade. In garment trade,
the students must be dedicated to their tasks which are patterning, cutting, sewing, etc. At
present, people's demand for clothing fit is getting higher and higher. Apparel tailor made is by
means of advanced technologies, according to the size of costumers, body shape and style
requirements, in line with the needs of the costumers to generate individual clothing and made
into clothing.
