HOW TO LET GO OF FEAR ON THE SPOT

"Fear is an attractive force, like love, " Lester said. We may have also heard,
"What you fear, will appear." Why is this? Actually, it is quite simple. This may
shock you, but here goes: Fear is in reality WANTING something to happen!
For Sedona Method grads, it is just below Lust on the Energy Chart. The Lust
feeling of Wanting something gets suppressed into the lower energy of Fear,
where we can pretend we are a victim.
We don't like to take credit for things. We want this terrible thing to happen, but
we are embarrassed about it. So we push it down into fear, so we can blame it on
someone else.
Sound familiar?
Now that we know this surprising fact, how do we let go of it? Here it is. Lester
taught me a very simple process to easily and quickly deal with this. Ask
yourself this question when you are fearing some event. Let us say you are afraid
that your rent will be late this month. Ask yourself, Could I let go of wanting the
rent to be paid late? Would I? When? Keep repeating this process. You will start
to notice a lessening of the fear. It will just begin to melt away. Do it while
driving, while preparing dinner, or in commercial breaks while watching TV.
Practice this process whenever you feel this uncomfortable feeling of fear. You
might find yourself laughing a little at the silliness that you could actually
WANT that thing to happen. Good, because you will release a little while
laughing. In these tough economic times, we find ourselves fearing events more
and more. Insecurity is prevalent everywhere. So remember, take the fear up to
wanting, and let it go from there. It is much easier than dealing with it in the low
state of fear. "Could I let go of wanting X? Would I? When? NOW!"

BE NOT THE DOER

Lester often remarked that once we realize the Self/Beingness is the REAL doer,
we let go of the false sense that “I (ego) am doing all this great stuff, and look
how smart and clever I am.”
He compared this to the image of the moonlight being unnecessary when the Sun
rises. Eventually we all get to the point where the ego ceases to ‘function’ for us,
and we end up not having enough money, no love, and life is not enjoyable
anymore. In reality, being a reflection of the Self, it never did anything anyway.
Many of us have had the experience of being down so far we just say, “I can’t
take this anymore”, and we just let go. “That’s a good place to be”, Lester would
say. Why? Because we are forced to face the truth: I, as ego, can do nothing.
“Efforting is ego in action, he said. When you release, things just drop in with no
effort. That is the natural way.”
We are all taught from a very young age that if we work hard, learn skills, and
strive for success, that the world will work for us. Many of us find that we have
been taught incorrectly. We read of Masters who do amazing things and have an
easy time of it. So, other than being a Master, how can we achieve this sense of
letting the greater force be the one operating?
Just by:
1. Realizing I of my “little self” can do nothing.
2. Letting go of the result and just try being like one watching a movie of my self
doing.
3. Imagine that we are little parts of a Greater Whole that is personal to us and
will do the thing if we LET it.
4. Those who are grads of the Sedona Method to make a new decision to use it
more. When we release, we are naturally letting the Self DO.
Lester said the Beingness is always trying to create our goals, but we get in the
way with our negativity.
So remember, each day allow the Force to be with you. (It is anyway). It has
ways and means to do things that you cannot imagine. It is sitting at the ready.
Why not take advantage of YOU being YOU?

RESISTANCE, THE HIDDEN ENEMY

Have you ever had a series of gains or some successes, only to find that you
suddenly are bogged down with lack of sleep, a cold, or just a muddled feeling?
Perhaps things don't seem to be moving as well, or you find releasing less easy.
You are encountering an ego-protective mechanism known as Resistance, which
sits over all the other negative feelings like a cap, holding everything down.
Lester said, "If it were not for Resistance, you would go Free quickly." So what
is this and how do we release it? Resistance is a program we put in to protect all
the other programs.
For grads, Step #1 is the secret weapon that will always work against it! For new
people, it is your desire to be freer (more successful, healthier, happier, etc.) that
will allow you to decide to let it go.
As usual, the Method has the fastest way I have ever experienced of knocking
this out.
We will offer a special Telecourse on Resistance, but for time being, you could
work with it as follows.
Find something in your life you have to do but you resist doing, like keeping the
kitchen clean.
When you get ready to work on or confront the resisted issue, feel the Resistance
and ask yourself, "Could I let go of Resisting ___ (whatever it is)? Would I?
When?"
As you do this any time you find yourself being sluggish, you will find yourself
not minding it, moving through it faster, and even sometimes finding the resisted
activity or person being moved out of your life (i.e., you make so much money
you can hire a maid!).
When you think about your goals for the day, ask yourself, "What do I resist
about doing ________? Or getting ______ done? Could I let go of resisting it?
Would I? When? Repeat on the same item until you feel great!"
Exercise also breaks up the resistance cycle. Do 30 minutes or more of brisk
walking or other exercise 1X a day. At first you will feel the resistance in your
body, and then it will begin to disappear.
Ask yourself, "What do I get from resisting? Then why not let it go?" With the
things we like to do, we jump over the wall of resistance. With the other things
we let it beat us.
At the very least, you will find yourself feeling more energetic and able to get
through the situation or encounter much faster!
GOALS
Goals are another commonly misunderstood aspect of the Method, and of people
in general. Everyone thinks that getting their goal in the world will make them
happy or secure. Unfortunately, as we see from all the unhappy celebrities
(Heath Ledger, Britney Spears, etc.) this is not true.
Lester did want goals in the Method because it is necessary to master the world,
but what does this mean? Any time you word a statement in a high energy, such
as, “I allow myself to have a constantly increasing surplus of money,” you will
bring up your anti-wining tendencies and thoughts…..”It’s not up to me. Trying
to really breakthrough is too hard; I’ll just release to be able to tolerate where I
am.” Etc. There are endless variations of all our reasons why we are not yet in
that high state!
This is actually the reason for goals…working on them causes us to confront and
drop the ballast that prevents us from seeing the Beautiful, Powerful beings that
we really are
Fortunately, if you focus on your goal chart every day and trace the feelings to
the Three Wants and/or your major Program and release, you can move up as
quickly as you are willing to spend the time and let go of the garbage that will
come up!
Another misunderstood and important tool for goal work is Action Steps. Each
day, after you release on your goal until you feel solidly in Courageousness or
above, write down at least one action step you can take. Then, list your feelings
and release on that action step. As you take the action, release the feelings/wants
that come up in motion.
Many people think that taking a lot of action on a goal will result in success…
how many of you have discovered that this is not always true? Ramana Maharshi
said, “Action is prescribed for purification of the mind only.” In other words, it
helps push up whatever impeding AGFLAP is left in the way but if you don’t
release it, you get bogged down.
Lester said, “I only know what I can DO!” and he set about proving to himself
his powers and testing out how free he had become.
The world always pushes us to do, do, do, as if it were a panacea, but I can tell
you from my own experience and perhaps you have seen this too, that “doing”
without releasing is such a waste of time.
One of our Lesterandme.com site staff spent 10 years chasing a career in the film
industry and wanting a big house, and when they stopped taking so much action
and focused on the inner work, both dropped right in.
Also, don’t try to work on too many goal charts at a time. Remember, when you
are releasing, working on one goal will help all the other goals.
We would love to hear on the forum if anyone has questions or comments on the
work we are suggesting!

WHAT IS HERE AND NOW

I just returned from teaching the Programs Retreat in Sedona, AZ on Lester's

former land. It was a very enlightening experience for everyone, including me.
As I look back on the 4 days, something happened that helped me in my own
life. 15 of the 17 participants loved the training and had tremendous gains. But
during the course, a couple of students kept coming to me with complaints.
"There is not enough releasing. Too much lecturing. Not enough physical
activity. Larry's course did it differently, etc." I released about it a lot.
I saw clearly that these folks were not being in the NOW moment where life
happens. They were stuck (step #5 in the Sedona Method) wanting to change
me, the course, the the time of meals, and their misery with it all. Instead of
releasing, they EXPRESSED their feelings on me, and as a result dug
themselves deeper into unhappiness and failure. One of the people was a woman
who was losing her house. When she returned home, after releasing, she realized
how much she had changed there.
What happens when we do that is we miss the truth that is occurring in the
moment. Lester saw when he was going free that he wanted to change
everything in his life, and that it had brought him to the brink of death. We think
if we can control "it" into being different, we would be safe and happy. Nothing
could be more wrong.
Magic happens for us when we live in the present moment and allow it to be
OK, whatever it is. Hale Dwoskin (Sedona Method Book) and Eckhart Tolle
(The Power of Now) both tell us to be in the present. Hale calls it "welcoming",
and Tolle calls it "being in NOW is being free of the pain body ", but both are
saying the same thing. What is happening in front of us is OUR movie. The Self
is showing us something we need to see, and sometimes that makes us
uncomfortable. That is the way we grow out of our "comfort zone". Silently
wanting to change what we are seeing robs us of growth we might otherwise
achieve.
Lester told me to let go of resisting what IS, and release to make it the way I
choose. He did not advise anyone to control people into doing it OUR way.
Expressing our misery is not releasing. Trying to control things puts us out of
control. Releasing our need to control (with the Sedona Method) puts us in
control.
So what can we learn from this to apply to our lives? Allow what IS to BE. Don't
resist it. Karl Jung said, "What you resist, persists." Let go of the need to change
everything you see and experience. It might be there to teach you a valuable
lesson. Let go of wanting to be right and make others wrong.
If you are not yet a Sedona Method grad, you can do this. If there is something
you don't like, ask yourself, "Can I just allow this to be here now?" Would I?
Repeat it if you need to.
What you very well might see is that it won't bother you as much, and it will
probably just pass from your experience more quickly. When we resist
something, we hold it there to keep bothering us!
So the lesson here is this:
Live in the here and now. See only subjectivity, nothing is objective. Let go of
resisting, as well as you can, what is in the now. Don't make goals in the future,
because that will keep them in the future....Lester. Feel like you have it now.
Forget the past. It is over and has no power over you other than what you give it.
Each now moment is new and has endless possiblities.
Be your Self. You have no choice in that....Lester.

MIRACLES AND THE NATURAL LAW

Lester told me that a miracle is the easiest thing in the world to do. Why?
Because it is the working of natural law. All Masters are able to totally control
the physical world and produce at will whatever they choose. Lester said that
accumulating money and things is really insecurity. We believe we will run out,
so we feel we need to amass more and more. Even a person with billions of
dollars is wanting security, because he does not stop, and keeps trying to gain
more. He cannot use what he has already but keeps wanting more. What is this
law of miracles? One can read about it in Autobiography of a Yogi in the
chapter, "The Law of Miracles". The law is that if we allow the harmony to
prevail, and let go of wanting (easier said than done), Beingness will supply us
with whatever we hold in mind without any effort at all. Lester told me that
Beingness is trying 24/7 to create our goals, but we get in the way with our
wants, which block the goals from happening. The Sedona Method helps us let
go of these wants. Yogananda states, "Nature obeys without stress or strain the
man who is in tune with her." (from the Law of Miracles, AY)
When Lester was living by himself in Sedona, he told me that miracles were an
everyday happening for him. He just didn't notice it since it was so natural. He
never filled the water in his trailer tanks and yet they were always full. This was
documented by a student who was given the job to fill them and forgot to do it.
Since Lester believed she was doing it, they were full! When a Master believes
something, it is done. That is how healings occur.
The hardest part of all this is to let go of our wanting, and be in the harmony. We
think we need to control events, and that stops us from the law from working.
How many times have we been at the bottom, and just "gave up"? Then all of a
sudden things turned around. What actually happened was that we let go of the
need to control, and Beingness did it for us. "Man's extremity is God's
opportunity", we have all heard. When we run out of ideas, "Fate steps in and
sees us through" as the song "When You Wish Upon a Star" says. Holding on to
trying to manipulate things is just a program, a subconscious tendency from the
past. Lester always cajoled me to let go of the need to control (with the Method),
and my goal will just drop in. It is sooo nice whenever I have experienced this
effortless creation. Why? Because one really feels the Self. Beingness, God. Our
real nature is Infinite, and we get a peak at it at times like this. Our usual choice
is to ID with our limited self from bad habits. Lester told me that if I just let go
all my wanting, everything would just drop into my lap. Effort implies ego. No
ego, Self. But I want it MY way. Sorry, you can't be like Frank Sinatra in this
stuff. He might have been Chairman of the Board in his life, but I am speaking
of the REAL Chairman. I have experienced miracles many times since I have
been releasing. Some have saved my life and my former wife's also. Some have
been more tame. I will admit it took a lot of releasing to get to that "no wanting"
state, but it was worth the trouble. The great Indian Master Nisargadatta stated,
"Break the wall your mind has built around you. Trust me. You will not regret."
(I Am That). That wall is mortared with wants and resistance. More about that
program later.

ON TAKING ACTION
Most of you in this group I assume have had this experience: You have taken
some course, either live or via tape, and had limited or no results from what was
promised in the course description. There is a reason for this, and Lester
explained it this way.
He told me that one can only achieve what is in ones consciousness. No matter if
a person had degrees form the best Ivy League schools, had positive upbringing,
and the best opportunities afforded him/her. "There is nothing out there but your
'thinkingness', both conscious and subconscious", he said. Your mind being
creative, will only create that which you have accepted as possible for you: your
beliefs. So if the course you went through was to teach you how to make
$50,000 per month by an Internet business and you haven't even made $50,000
per year, it will be well nigh impossible for that result to be achieved. Your
beliefs about money, mostly subconscious, will trump anything you are taught.
In Los Angeles, we have a "school" called "The Learning Annex", where a
myriad of short classes are given in everything imaginable. Starting a spa, selling
your script, working in voice overs, etc. are all offered to a lust filled public
dreaming of the inside scoop on becoming a success with a one or two day
training. If a person already has a fairly successful consciousness in the area they
are pursuing, or has been successful in the past, then these might jump start them
into a new career. However, for most people this will just be for entertainment
only. It will go nowhere.
Lester always said that people are always looking to change things by changing
the picture they see in front of them. Take a course, move to a different place,
find a new partner, etc. He said the only way ones world changes is to change
ones thinkingness. How? His way was the Sedona Method Release process. By
addressing and dropping the deep subconscious programs that block us, we can
watch the outer picture change for the better.
We need a powerful tool for this because these beliefs are well entrenched over
many lifetimes. Lester told me that these programs brought him to the brink of
death, before he awoke and began to knock them out quite by accident. "I was
terrified of dying", he told me, in the process creating the primitive form of what
we now know as the Method. Now we all can take advantage of this useful tool
of negative belief dropping thanks to his persistent mind tinkering. I myself had
a Master's Degree, 7 flying ratings, sales courses from the best, and many other
trainings, and I was broke and unsuccessful. Once I started releasing, things
started to get better. I still have a way to go to move up to the top of the energy
chart, but I am releasing every day to move up. There is no other way. Action
itself without releasing just brings up feelings, which if not released, just get
suppressed, only to arise again at a later time. "Action is prescribed for
purification of the mind", Ramana Maharshi stated. Most believe if I do "this" I
will get "that" result. It just is not so. I know this can be frustrating, but there is
an answer. When you change the inside enough, the outer changes. "Winners
win, and losers lose."...Lester.
I trust this helps enlighten you some to this beguiling subject.

THE WORLD "OUT THERE"

"There’s nothing out there but your thinkingness." Lester said this often. What
did he mean? Most of us think that the world happens to us, when the reality of it
is just the opposite. WE are the creators of our "movie"...
Most of it is SUB conscious, so we are not aware of it, but it happens just the
same. Whether we like it or not, our thoughts are producing on the screen of
space, and we live it. So, what can we do about it? Change what we think, feel,
and our wants by releasing with the Sedona Method. It is the only fast way I
know of to do it, and I’ve tried just about everything else.
As we release, we can watch subtle changes happen in our picture. People will
act differently towards us, and things just get better. We "fix" our world by
working with goals, and releasing on them. What we think of as a solid reality is
in actuality a changeable film. Lester saw this as he was going free in 1952. This
is a fun experiment to illustrate your creative power.
The next time you are stopped next to someone at a traffic signal, look at the
person in the other car when they are not looking at you. Tell them in your mind
to turn and look back. You will be amazed at the result. Also, when you need a
parking space in a full lot, let go (if you know the Method) of wanting to have a
space. If you don’t know the Method just see yourself parking there and let go.
This changing world picture idea is shocking to many at first, but it is exciting to
know you can change it. "If someone else did it, there’s nothing you can do. If
you did it, you can undo it"...Lester. I have had done this a myriad of times, so I
know from my experience it works.
"We must prove to ourselves we are masters of this world and not victims," he
said. "We need to let go of our non-winning programs and be winners". The
world is a mirror of your mind. It can show you why you are limited and where
you are stuck. People who bother you are there to teach you about yourself. This
is advanced yoga, so it is not for the weak. We are in the truth business. People
who have the funds to do it, use money to stay away from the world out there.
But at some point, the money runs out.
Then what? Nisargadatta said, "At some point all physical and mental means
come to an end. Then what?" The "what" is where we come to as Sedona
Method students. We have the tool to straighten this all out and live life to the
fullest. We find out also why we are here. To master the world the right way If
you don’t like your world, only you can change it. Is it easy? No. "It is simple",
Lester said. Even he knew it takes a decision to change and the will to do it. The
only choice is to live as you are. That for me was a no brainer. That’s why I have
been at this for 25 years, but it has been worth the trouble. I could not stay as I
was. How about you?

Lester Levenson on Love

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for handing in there while we worked out
all the bugs on the site...I believe your patience will be rewarded. I know some
of you have not received the free MP3s you are due, as we changed the handling
of the emails, and had to rebuild the list.
Those will be out the first week of March. With February 's holiday of St.
Valentine, I thought I would write about the subject of Love from Lester 's
viewpoint.
He often said that Love was one of the most often used but misunderstood words
in human experience. What Love brings to mind for most of us is that first kiss
with our high school sweetheart, or meeting our spouse-to-be for the first time.
When we "fall in Love" there is a real chemical cocktail that is uncorked, poured
into our blood, and we feel high, giddy , and for a time, the world is a blissful
place. We see our beloved bathed in Love-colored hues, and he/she is perfect.
I've often thought if they could put this into a pill, we'd have a drug problem of
horrendous proportions!
Lester said that human Love is totally different from the way a Master defines
Love, which is the real Love of Beingness/God. He said that human Love is a
very limited thing.
"You do this for me, and I will Love you." I, in turn will do that for you, and you
will Love me." In Latin, we use the term :Quid Pro Quo, or "this for that". There
is the law of mutuality always running, and this so called Love due is partly a
type of human arrangement for some kind of desired result. It could be a planned
family, a promising business future, or a myriad of other lustful fantasies.
There may or may not work out, and even if they do, there is no guarantee that
Love, Inc. will survive. After all, the reminder of that drug is always on our
minds, and that is why we hear about so much infidelity and affairs. The same
person who incited that cocktail just can't do it any more. Sound familiar? On to
what Lester had to say. At a New York City impromptu short lecture Lester
gave, he made this powerful statement, "LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, and you'll you
be so happy....and healthy....and prosperous!" How could that be? The secret lies
in Lester 's definition of Love. "Love is total selflessness. Wanting for the other
one what he/she wants for themselves (not what we want).
Love is someone knowing that "I AM YOU." Those reading this who are Sedona
Method grads will remember that on the feeling chart, Love is very high, in
ACCEPTANCE, right below total PEACE. So, we need to query ourselves, "Am
I really loving?" Probably not, most of the time. When we Love our pets or
someone 's newborn infant, we feel this Love. Lester said that Love is Giving,
with no thought of Receiving, wanting nothing from the other one. Difficult?
Not really, according to Lester. He said, "Loving people is the easiest thing to
do." Then why does it seem so hard to Love people? How many of you have
heard others say, "If only people were as easy to Love as dogs."
The reason for that is simple. We don't want Love from them, just for them to be
there when we get home, wag their tails or purr, take walks with us, etc., and
Love us for what we are, not what we are not. They don't remember our scolding
yesterday, or that we forgot their favorite cookies. They exist in the NOW
moment.
We humans have a hard time loving people because we fear rejection. We put up
walls around ourselves to protect us from any more hurt and to buffer the pain
we are sure is to come. We want Love instead of feeling safe to give Love.
Lester said "Wanting equates to not having." So when we want Love, we create
the opposite, or rejection. Lester was often heard to say, "Every feeling is a non-
Love feeling." Fear, Pride, Grief, Apathy, etc. are all expressions of nonLove. So
when we release the Wanting Love program, it takes thousands of nonLove
feelings with it!
There resides the incredible power of the Sedona Method (Release Technique).
Lester told me if I became totally loving by using his technique, all my goals
would just drop in by a mere effortless thought.
Why? Because it is such a high state, you are in tune with the Whole Universe,
which is ALL LOVING. When the mind is quiet with no thoughts and feelings,
all the power of one 's Self is available, untethered by the baggage of the past
(the programs). The Big 3 Master Programs are released with the Sedona
Method Release Technique Course.
Getting back to Lester 's statement at the lecture, if we would Love all the time,
we would achieve a very successful and happy life. Loving totally would
amazingly give us all the knowledge we seek as well. So what keeps us from
doing this? Just holding on to non-Love feelings we think will protect us, but in
fact cause us trouble.
The very fear of rejection causes us to be rejected. Anger at him/her for
something said causes us to create the same thing over again with someone else!
Also, because Love is such a high state, it automatically will bring up all the
AGFLAP, or non-Love feelings, just as wording a goal in a high energy. Once
while in Sedona for an intensive, I made a goal, "I decide to Love people no
matter what." It stirred me up so badly I became violently ill and threw up for
days.
Lester nearly yelled at me, "Why did you stop releasing? You could have gone
free!" We don't like the insecure or rejected feelings, so we slow our progress
down. If you remember a time you were truly happy, you were most likely
feeling very loving.
Is it true? Maybe you were helping in a selfless way, or maybe giving a gift to
someone you really wanted to make happy.
You might have been teaching a child to ride a bike the first time or enjoying a
video game with him.
A good exercise is to go back and find times when you were happy and
investigate with the Method what got in the way. Or during the day, when
someone does something to bother you, see if you can release and Love them
anyway.
You will find yourself lighter and happier, freer and freer. Remember as Lester
said, "LOVE LOVE LOVE, and you'll be so happy....and healthy...and
prosperous!!!"

Sex and other Escapes

from Lester and Me – Conversations With An American Master, Lester
Levenson
“Men think that God is in a woman’s vagina”…Lester Levenson, As told to
author.
Lester asked me at the time he said the above quote to me not tell anyone he said
it. He did not think people would understand what he meant by it. I never heard
any master ever say anything like it, but then again I never read what Lester told
me about many other things either.
After this much time has passed, and since I can now elucidate what his meaning
was, I don’t think he would mind my doing it. It is obvious to any man and most
women what he is saying here. Men are so focused on sex with women that the
vagina takes on God-like proportions.
Men want fame and fortune, to a great extent, so they can get the youngest, and
most attractive women. The “trophy wife” has become a symbol of success in
our society. Because of this, beautiful women have always exerted a powerful
influence on men, and like Gary Hart and Bill Clinton learned, can cause a fast
fall from Grace.
About the former, Lester said to me that “he went form number one to zero over
night.” “Do you know why people love sex so much?” Yes, I answered. This one
I knew. “Because it quiets the mind.” “Right.” “People will do anything to get a
few seconds of quiet from an orgasm.” They will even ruin their careers over it. I
think now about how Bill Clinton left a tarnished record with the tete a tete with
Monica, and ruined what many consider to be a fine presidency.
At the time Gary Hart was considered a favorite to be president, he became
embroiled in a sex scandal that took him from “number one to zero” as Lester
commented. Throughout history sex has played an all too important role in
world affairs. Even King David in the Bible had his troubles.
He saw Bathsheba bathing one day and sent her husband to his death in battle so
he could have her in his bed. Quieting the mind is endgame for every form of
yoga, and the Sedona Method is no different. What a person seeks in sex for a
few seconds, a master has all the time: a totally quiet mind even in the midst of
the noisy world. So what do we mean by a “quiet mind”?
Most people have had the experience of trying to focus on an important task or
tried to read a book, and their minds would not let them because of agitation of
thoughts. “My rent is late, I have nothing in the house for dinner, I am worried
about my child’s schoolwork, etc.” Lester’s method of releasing is extremely
effective at quieting these thoughts by letting go of the stimulator of these
gadflies of peace called feelings, wants, and programs. He said the mind is
restless because it is programmed to keep the body safe 24/7, and so we can
never for a moment stop and become aware of who we really are, the Unlimited
Self.
When you begin to use the Method, the mind throws up all kinds of obstacles to
releasing because it sees the end of its existence, he told me. Sleepiness, wanting
to go to a movie or bar, going out with friends, and myriads of other escapes are
all ways the ego-mind tries to slow this process down.
Sex just happens to be the “Mother of All Escapes” because it quiets the mind
better than anything else, albeit for a hiccup of time. “The real purpose for sex is
reproduction, period”, Lester said, “not for the entertainment we derive from it.”
