RAZZAKOV
SESSION 2017-2018.
(THE FIRST ENGINEERING UNIVERSITY IN KYRGYZSTAN)
THE KYRGYZ STATE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY (KSTU) named after I. Razzakov (KSTU) was
founded 1954 as Frunze Polytechnic Institution. KSTU is the flagship of Engineering Education in
Kyrgyzstan. University prepares highly qualified specialists in different directions for our country, the
countries of near and far abroad.
Today KSTU has successfully implemented a multi-level training centers, opening up new areas of
Bachelor's and Master's degrees, with expanding international relations, having long term partnership
agreements. we work very closely with leading Russian universities such as Moscow Power Energy
Institute, Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman, Baltic State Technical University
"Voenmekh" and others. In 2004, together with the Berlin Technical University of Applied Sciences,
opened the Kyrgyz-German Technical Institute. Our students showed excellent knowledge, and they
have the opportunity to continue their studies at universities in Russia and Europe.
KSTU includes about 1500 faculty members, including members of the National Academy of
Science, 53 doctors and over 250 candidates of science, as well as members of public and International
Academies.
KSTU is a major center of the introduction of European models of quality management education.
The university uses good quality materials with a technical base in 14 educational buildings and offers a
scientific and electronic library centers where students have access to an abundance of current, relevant
and necessary information.
More 21 600 students (including 2267 foreign students) study by use innovation technologies on
educational programs: 46 directions of Bachelor, 14 directions of Master, and 4 specialties with higher
vocational education. It is using module and credit-systems of education; there is training on English and
Dutch languages in special groups.
At the present time, there are approximately 25000 students full-time studying and 5000 students
part-time studying at the KSTU in 20 Engineering, Technical and Economic fields. Teaching is conducted
in accordance with the state standards and laws on education in the Kyrgyz Republic with the following
terms of completion:
The KSTU has "Doktorantura" and "Aspirantura" (Post Graduated) programs and has 4 specialized
councils for evaluating "Doctor's" and "PhD degree" dissertations. Highly qualified training of specialists
is possible because of the modern laboratory equipment and computer laboratories connected to
Internet. Library/Information Center has approximately 500,000 pieces of educational literature .
INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY
Beginning to 1980 have finished our university and have received diplomas in higher education more
than 700 foreign students from Bolivia, Germany, China, India, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Pakistan,
Laos, Senegal, Congo, Tanzania, Sudan, etc. Besides, our students are taking an active part in such
international academic programs. Annually 8-10 students leave KSTU for universities of the USA, Europe
and Asia in order to continue their education and obtain master’s degree or PhD.
KSTU maintains international relations with many foreign countries. At present KSTU has completed
more than 40 treaties and agreements with foreign higher education institutions (HEI) and has been
effectively cooperating with such of them as:
The Royal Institute of Technologies (Stockholm, Sweden)
The Nice - Sofia – Antipolis University (Nice, France)
The Moscow Technical University of Communication and Information Science (Russia)
The Technical University named after N. Bauman (Russia)
The Kazakn National Technical University
The Berlin technical University (Germany)
Moscow Power Energy Institute
Tomsk State Technical University
Moscow Institute of radio engineering, electronics and automation
Moscow road-transport institute
Moscow State university of printing
The faculty trains mining engineers engaged in the prospecting of ground- waters (including thermo-
mineral waters). They carry out a quantitative and qualitative evaluation of ground waters, predict and
prevent catastrophic phenomena (landslides, floods, earthquakes). Specialists – graduators in geologies
prospecting technology conduct search and prospecting of mineral deposits, develop technology and
techniques of prospecting deposits drill oil and gas wells. Engineers geophysics study the crustal
structure using geophysical methods to search and prospect mineral deposits, including oil and gas.

The faculty of Ecology and economics trains highly qualified experts. Many of the graduates of this
faculty work in the mining industry: Kumtor Operating Company, gold extracting plant "Makmal", mines
"Solton-Sary", "Terek-Say", Kara-Balta Mining Combinat, Kadamzhai antimony Combinat, as well as in
the agencies, various projects and NGOs.
THE FACULTY OF INFORMATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES:
One of most important factors influencing XXI century society are informational and
communicational technologies. Life manner of people issues of their education and professional activities
are influenced by information technologies. Effective methods for using the obtained information has a
dominant position in the world is occupied by those who have useful information, advanced information
technologies, affective methods of obtained information usage. The faculty was formed in 1999 on the
base of the Faculty of Automatic production control. (FAUP).
THERE ARE SIX DEPARTMENTS AT THE FACULTY OF INFORMATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES
(FIT).
1. Automatic Control;
2. Informatics And Hard Ware;
3. Software Of Computer Systems;
4. Applied Mathematics;
5. Applied Physics;
6. Physical Education.
Practically orientated forms of teaching are used at the faculty due to the transmission on
second level education system. 90 % of graduates are employed. Good teaching and laboratory facilities
of the Faculty contribute to the successful education of students. Specialists corresponding to modern
requirements, are trained by highly qualified lecturers (10 doctors, 28 candidates of sciences). Faculty
preserves and enhances the historically established traditions of the oldest "Polytech” faculty.
Relationship with foreign partners is well-established.
Faculty of Transport and Machine building is a member of various international associations: the
Association of technical Universities, the Engineering Education Association, SYNERGY project,
International Laser Association, the Graphic Arts workers Association, International Association of
Automotive and Road Education and others.
Training of scientific and pedagogical specialists is carried out through post- graduate and doctoral
courses. Scientific researchers are aimed on at solving the most important problems of machine building
and transport, continuum mechanics, materials studying and engineering. Scientific Investigational
Institute of Physical Technical problems successfully carries out their activities on the base of the faculty.

More than 90% of graduates are employed. Professor staff consists of high qualified specialists
who were trained in leading educational and scientific centers in Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Germany,
England, USA, Bulgaria and other countries.
Professors of the faculty are actively engaged in researches on acute topics: the rational use of
natural resources, environmental and health protection, biotechnology researches in the production of
functional foods, the technology of textile and light industry, etc. Scientific-Research of Chemical
Technological Institute (NEHTE) and Education Science-Technology Centre (Vostok-mir) successfully
operate on the faculty base.
The faculty laboratories are equipped with modern equipment and allow to perform a complex
analysis of food products quality and develop new production technologies.
The faculty has a modern laboratory base and computer labs. There is the only Internet lab of
remote access in Central Asia. It provides an opportunity for auto- mated laboratory training with the
organization of multiuser access to the laboratory equipment of computer net- works. There are
laboratory-museum of electricity meters and measuring equipments and laboratory of Automated System
of Scientific Researches (ASSR) in electrical engineering. In 2013 the training ground on electric power
engineering was opened on the territory of the University. It will provide opportunity to the students to
practice their skills using the real equipment.
