REMEMBER A VET

The Battle Creek Enquirer’s Remember A Vet campaign began in


1953 to help veterans at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Battle
Creek. Remember A Vet was the idea of the late Art Middleton, a
journalist for the former Enquirer and News.
The campaign continues this year with a goal of $35,000. Donations
go to the VA Medical Center and are used to buy coupon books and
other needs of veterans all year. Veterans use the coupons at the
center’s retail store and cafeteria.
