Introduction
Smart helmet
In present scenario, many cases of bike accident can be seen around in society. People get
injured or may lose their life due to accidents. One of the reasons is not wearing the helmet.
Many accidents damages can be prevented and many lifes can be saved, if they wear helmet
while driving. Continuously road rules are violated. So as to overcome these problems, a
Smart helmet is proposed having a control system built inside a helmet. Smart Helmet for
Motorcyclist is a project undertaken to increase the rate of road safety among motorcyclists.
Therefore, we are going to develop one smart helmet which consists of two Bluetooth
devices, Uno Arduino, Nano Arduino, Lithium ion battery, touch sensors etc.
A Touch sensor and Bluetooth is provided in a helmet which is connected to the Nano
Arduino. For this whole component, the power supply is given by using Li- ion battery.
When a person wears the helmet, touch sensor detects the contact and it sends the signal to
the Arduino. When contact is made, the Bluetooth which is present in the helmet gets on.
The vehicle is provided with Uno Arduino and Bluetooth. Both are driven by using vehicle
power. when these two Bluetooth are paired, signal from the Uno Arduino is sent to the
vehicle self-start button there by starting the engine. Both Arduinos are preprogrammed
and program is done by using Arduino software.

LITERATURE SURVEY
➢ IMPLEMENTATION AND ANALYSIS OF SMART HELMET:
A radio frequency module is responsible for the wireless communication between the
helmet and the bike circuit. The Piezo electric buzzer is used to detect speeding and this
feature is extended by limiting the speed of the user. The ALCHO-LOCK function is
used to prevent drink and drive scenarios Accelerometer detects accidents, and this is
extended by employing GSM module in our circuit, which is designed to automatically
send one message to one personal contact and one concerned authority that the person
has been into an accident and a fog sensor for increasing visibility in case of fog or smog
are also used. Another feature known as E-HELMET allows for automatic deduction of
the required amount from the user’s virtual wallet wirelessly preventing the rider to stop
and pay for it.
➢ SMART HELMET:
Nitin Agarwal, et.al [2]
It consists a RF transmitter and a RF receiver system. the bike will not get start without
wearing helmet by the user, as user wear helmet a rf signal radiate from transmitter and
once these rf signal get sensed by the receiver placed in the ignition switch of the bike,
bike will get start.
OBJECTIVES
There by mandatering the use of helmet one can ensures safe journey.

CONCLUSION
The circuit is designed in such a manner that bike does not start until and unless rider
wears the helmet. There by giving an effective solution for the accidents occurring due
to not wearing the helmets.
Wearing the helmet and being sober are necessary conditions for the bike to start,
reducing the possibilities of accidents. Even if a person takes caution sometimes
accidents do occur. Here our engine cut off feature reduces the chances of fatalities
significantly. The smart helmet acts as a virtual policeman keeping the drivers in check
and making roads safer. Hence the smart helmet is an effective solution to many
problems.
