Good morning, let me introduce myself, I'm Shanira Ramirez, student from the engineering

faculty at Santa's University.

I’m going to talk about "The impact of domestic violence on children's lives"
My talk is particularly relevant because today children violence has increased considerably
especially within your own family, so you must be informed to know how to help them.

In the first place,

what is the domestic violence?
Domestic violence is a term used to describe the violence and abuse of family members or
an intimate partner.
But, Why is this important?
Violence in the family is one of the most serious problems affecting our society and abuse
of children is perhaps the most eloquent expression of breaking the bonds of responsibility
between generations.

Mistreatment and abuse constitutean infringement of the rights of children. Although

occurring in the home, not aprivate matter because everything related to the overall
development of a child is amatter of public interest.

Let’s move on to the next point

Types of child abuse are broken down in four distinct categories:

PHISICAL ABUSE
the ways in which it can be caused are very diverse:
*skin lesions as wounds, bleeds
*fractures
*shaking
*mechanical asphyxia
*poisoning
SEXUAL ABUSE
It’s the abuse exercise of power of an adult towards a child for sexual satisfaction of who
exercises it
EMOTIONAL OR PSYCHOLOGICAL ABUSE
It’s generally characterized by the use of the Word, but ir can also comtemplate non-verbal
attitudes that expose it to humiliating situations.
NEGLIGENCE OR EMOTIONAL ABANDONMENT
It’s the lack of protection of the child against possible risks and the lack of attention to their
basic needs.

The next area I’d like to focus on next is in The effects of violence on children

EFFECTS ON HEALTH
Adults who suffered from child abuse are more likely to have behavioral, physical and
mental problems such as the following:
* Acts of violence
* Depression
* Obesity
* Undue consumption of alcohol and drugs

COGNITIVE FUNCTIONING
School mismatch and problems to integrate. As for example, school absenteeism, poor
performance, lack of motivation, little attention and concentration.

PROBLEMS IN SOCIAL COMPETENCES

Children who have suffered abuse behave more aggressively in their relationships with
their peers.

LONG-TERM CONSEQUENCES
The first years of life are fundamental, because during this period there is the cognitive
and socio-emotional development of individuals.

TO CONCLUDE

The health of children should be cared; child should not be exposed to emotional
imbalance for causes of abuse. As I have already mentioned, abuse can take many forms
and affect in several ways children it may cause serious cases even death.

The people must raise awareness about child abuse they should give a good education to
their children. They should not hit their children, instead, they must give love, care and
protection, and these are the best ways to provide a good moral education to them.
