Manuel Baldemor

Manuel Baldemor is a multi-talented Filipino. He is a painter, sculptor, printmaker, writer and book
illustrator. He hails from the artistic town of Paete, Laguna province known for its woodcarvers.No
other Filipino painter captures the warmth of Christmas in the Philippines better than Manuel D.
Baldemor. He has contributed more than 24 designs for reproduction on UNICE’s greeting cards and
are distributed worldwide. For 18 straight years, UNICEF has continuously chosen Baldemor’s work,
a remarkable feat considering the many submissions from all over the world competing for the
honor.Baldemor no longer freezes his character in mere portraits. He imbues life and action into his
art and lets viewers become on with the character in his “Philippine People Power”, a 2009 epic Mosaic
mural installed on 3 x 5-meter wall inside Basilica os St Therese of the child Jesus in Lisieux France.

Bernardo Maac

Bernardo was born on June 17, 1972 in Oriental Mindoro, but grew up in Balayan, Batangas. Despite
his family’s protest, he decided to study Fine Arts in UE. He became an illustrator for a greeting card
company and a props artist at an Ever Gotesco mall.Maac first’s works were paintings of multi-sexual
series. He uses a palette knife for impasto effect similar to Van Gough’s. He became a finalist in
multiple art competitions such as Shell, Philip Morris and Metrobank. His current works are figures
drawn and painted in complex overlapping curved lines combined with geometric forms that shape his
subjects, most of which depict traditional Filipino Themes: A style he adopted and made his own, he
calls in high detailed rendering he calls “Rythmic Line

Norma Belleza

Norma Belleza was born in San Fernando, Pampanga on May 3, 1939 to a family of movie marquee
and billboard painters, when billboard printing was still scarce at that time. Moving to Manila, she
obtained a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the University of Santo omas in 1962. In the years to
come, her works continue to be exhibited and featured in art book, book covers, magazines and
journals.

LITO BARCELONA

Lito Barcelona took his bachelor of fine Arts major in Advertising at the UST (1971) in the same
batch as Lito Balagtas and Nemesio Miranda. His artistic talent comes from his father Jose, who is
also a painter in his own right, who painted portraits, played musical instruments such as violin and
the piano. Lito worked with J. Romero and Associates as an advertising artist, later rising to art
director at Filcapital Dev. Corp., and at Jardine Davies. He then became the vice-president of
conceptual, a design studio servicing pharmaceutical companies. He then decided to retire in 1995
to paint full time.Lito likes to capture a general lightning on his paintings that show contrast with the
rice fields as well as with farmers doing their chores during the harvest season.If he paints in a style
reminiscent of American Artist Andrew Wyeth, it s because he was one of the original members of
the Magic Realists Group that hatched at J. Romero in 1974, led by the ad agency’s art and creative
director Nestor Leynes, and made up of J. Walter Artists Gen Viterbo, Manny Llado and painting
buddy, Jaime Roque. The group painted and exhibited together in metro manila art gallery for five
years.
Although they have disbanded, each continue to paint in a realist style until today.
EDDIE SARMIENTO

Eddie Sarmiento was born on May 10, 1940 in Malabon. He studied at the University of Santo
Tomas with a major in Advertising. He established a gallery in Mabini during the 60’s but eventually
closed due to the increase of bars and nightclubs in the area. He did a number of commissioned art
works for Clark Air Base, PLDT, Avon, Covelandia and Manila Bank.

RONALD CASTRILLO

Ronald was born on June 3, 1964. His parents, Aurea and Amado Castrillo – a great writer,
Illustrator and sculptor has influence and inspired him to develop his interest and skills in the arts at
a tender age. He finished a degree in Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering Major in
Aircraft Aircraft design at PATTS School of Aeronautics. His inspiration are his surroundings using
metal, wood and glass element to form lines and curves that people can touch and feel.
