A Raspberry Pi based Smart device for Women and child Safety Using IoT.

1 Problem Statement

Security for women/child has become a major issue as the number of crimes over women and child is
increasing day-by-day. Personal safety is one of the most important concerns for women, as crime against
women has not decreased. Proposed system for women consists of wearable safety device having an emer-
gency button for sending notification Camera for capturing attackers image.When women is in trouble she
can press the button of the device immediately. Location of victim is tracked with help of GPS and image
gets captured an emergency message with image link will be sent to all necessary contacts. For children,
transportation security system is used which works on GPS, GPRS, GSM for vehicle tracking and monitoring
mechanism.

2 Motivation
In recent year, Security for women/child has become a major issue as the number of crimes over women and
child is increasing day-by-day. Personal safety is one of the most important concerns for women, as crime
against women has not decreased. Proposed system for women consists of wearable safety device having
an emergency button for sending notification and Camera for capturing attackers image. The same issue
has motivated us to work on Security for women/child where we can automate the process of women/child
safety.

3 Scope

1. This project consists a wearable band with provision of connecting with smart phone via Blue-
tooth/WiFi.

2. The major merit of this product is its simplicity and is also economical and effective handy device for
women who travel alone.

3. If an emergency occurs, the device will produce a high-volume alarm and it also sends alert messages
and call to predefined numbers including near location police station and hospitals with current location
of the device

4 Objectives

1. To Develop a low cost system which provide immediate alert in case of crime against women.

2. To locate position of the women under danger.

3. To capture Image of culprit in crime which can serve as a proof in court.

4. To develop an efficient and handy safety device for women.

5. To track real-time position of the child.

6. To send messages, calls to guardians if the live location of the child goes off the desired track.

5 Review of Conference/Journal Papers and Relevant Theory

1. Design and Development of Suraksha -A Women Safety Device- This paper explains the
basic idea underlying suraksha which is to flash a warning giving an instant location of the distressed
victim to the police so that the incident could be prevented and the culprit apprehended .

2. One touch alarm system for womenâs safety using GSM [2]This paper describes about a one
touch alarm system for womenâs safety using GSM. In the light of recent outrage in Delhi which shook
the nation and woke us to the safety issues for women, people are finding up in different ways to defend.
Here we introduce a device which ensures the protection of women. This helps to identify protect and
call on resources to help the one out of dangerous situations. Anytime you senses danger, all you had
to do, is hold on the button of the device. The device consists of a PIC microcontroller, GSM module,
GPS modules. The system resembles a normal watch which when activated, tracks the place of the
women using GPS (Global Positioning System) and sends emergency messages using GSM (Global
System for Mobile communication), to sos contacts and the police control room .

3. SHE (Society Harnessing Equipment): [3]It is a garment embedded with an electronic device.
This garment has an electric circuit that can generate 3800kV which can help the victim to escape. In
case of multiple attacks it can send around 80 electric hocks.

ILA security: The co-founders of this system, have designed three personal alarms that can shock and
disorient potential attackers and hence safeguard the victim from perilous situations.

AESHS (Advanced Electronics System for Human Safety) It is a device that helps track the location
of the victim when attacked using GPS facility [3].

VithU app: This is an emergency app initiated by a popular Indian crime television series âGumrahâ
aired on Channel [V]. When the power button of the Smartphone is pressed twice consecutively, it
begins sending alert messages with a link of the location of the user every two minutes to the contacts.

Smart Belt: This system is designed with a portable device which resembles a normal Belt.
