CHAPTER I.

THE PROBLEM AND ITS CONTEXT

This chapter sets as the introductory part. It discusses in detail the causes and desired

outcomes of the study. This section explains the basis on why this study had been carried

out, who will be the beneficiaries and what the corresponding benefits are. Likewise in

this chapter, the solution to the problem is presented and briefly discussed. It consists of

the introduction, objective, significance of the study, scope of the project, and definition

of terms.

Guide in writing your introduction:

 This should introduce the general problem that the proposed system addresses, and
the need to find a solution to the problem.
 The proponents should introduce the presentation of the problem, that is, the problem
is all about.
 The proponents should describe the existing and prevailing problem situation based
on his/her experience.
 The proponents should give strong justification for selecting such research problem
in his/her capacity as researcher. Being part of the organization or systems and the
desire and concern to improve the system.
 A link between the introduction and the statement of the problem.
 Content of each paragraph:
 Paragraph 1: Presentation of the importance of the software to be
developed.
 Paragraph 2: Research Locale. This contains background about the
organization or group where study will be conducted.
 Paragraph 3: The existence of a unsatisfactory condition; a felt problem that
needs a solution. A solution that involves development of system software.

 Paragraph 4: A desire to find a better way of doing something or improving

the present system.
