Rules for adverbs of frequency:

1. All these adverbs can go before the main verb.

I always read before bed.

I never play football.


2. All these adverbs can go after the verb to be (is, am, are, was,

were).

She is always late.

I am usually hungry after swimming.

We were often playing together.

3. Adverbs usually, often, sometimes, occasionally (UOSO) can go

at the beginning of a sentence.

Usually I go to school at 7.

Often I see Mary in my neiborhood.

Sometimes I cook with my mom.

Occasionally I surf the internet.

4. Adverbs usually, often, sometimes, occasionally (UOSO) can go

at the end of a sentence.

Angeline is late sometimes.

Bella gets up at 7 usually.
