CLOs Description PLOs Level

CLO1 To understand normal stress, normal strain, shear stress, shear strain, PLO01 Medium
modulus of Elasticity, UTS, centroid and moment of inertia. The students will
be able to apply the concepts to evaluate the internal stresses developed in
materials subjected to various load, mechanical properties, and length and
diameters variations, thermal stresses and deformation behaviour of beams
subject to various types of load

CLO2 To analyze normal stress, normal strain, shear stress, shear strain, modulus PLO02 Medium
of Elasticity, UTS, centroid and moment of inertia. The students will be able
to apply the concepts to evaluate the internal stresses developed in
materials subjected to various load, mechanical properties, and length and
diameters variations, thermal stresses and deformation behaviour of beams
subject to various types of load.

CLO3 To be able to analyze the deformation behaviour of beams subject to PLO03 Low
various types of load, shear force and bending moment . Students will be
able to apply torsion equation to circular bars. Students would be able to
design shafts for various loading conditions

CLO4 Students would practice investigating mechanical properties of the materials PLO04 Low
from literature and assess their applicability for mechanical engineering
applications
