Problem Statement:

Ministry of Pakistan wants to setup an office in the capital city of Islamabad. For that
purpose, the installation of a modern network inside the office building is mandatory. The
ministry has the following major departments;

 Joint Chief of Staffs Committee Office (JCSC)

 Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate (ISI)
 Strategic Plan Development (SPD)
 National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) Data-Base
 Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB)
 Defense Science and Technology Organization (DESTO) Data-Base
 Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR)
 Kahuta Research Laboratories (KRL) Data-Base
 Military Lands and Cantonments Department (MLCD)
 Military Accounts Department
Ministry also wants to have a controlled information flow between various departments.
The requirement of the ministry is as follows.

 ISI Department will only report to the coordinator office of JCSC and will
not share any sort of information with any other department.
 If a department has to access any other department, it shall have to contact
the remote admin or coordinator office.
Terms and conditions:

 The ministry wants a reliable and durable networking system that shall have to be
rigid and would not fail in any case.
 The system should be capable for adapting with the futuristic additions in the
network.
 The networking engineer should have a complete understanding of the above
mentioned cases.
 All the sensitive installations shall be done in the supervision of the security
officers.

Subnetting:

Subnetting is a process of dividing a single large network in multiple smaller networks. A

single large network is just like a town without any sector and street address. In such a town, a
postman may take 3 to 4 days in finding a single address. While if town is divided in sectors and
streets, he can easily find any address in less than one hour.

Conclusion:
 Whole networking system was designed for the ministry according to the requirements of
the ministry.
