ABSTRACT

De COCONUT Turon is a perfect snack for the times when you require nutrition
you’ve able to prepare this kind of food. Coconut meat also has a lot of mineral and
vitamin B. benefits of young coconuts is very special because the content of vitamin B
was instrumental in the formation of energy and the production of red blood cells.
Antioxidants are substances that are also needed by the body, because these are play
a role in the body substance that may protect cells from the harmful effects of free
radicals. It turns out coconut meat is rich in antioxidants. Consuming coconut meat
can overcome flatulence, prevent weight gain, and clean up toxins in the body.
After doing De Coconut Turon the researcher found out that making” De coconut
turon” is very easy and also you enjoy to cooked it and also the ingredients is very
affordable the main ingredients is very easy to find because Coconut it’s a lot here in
this place. But much better if you have your own so that it’s very easy to you to made
it the other ingredients is available in the market. Based on my research or my related
literature coconut meat are delicious and nutritious and you should include them in
your diet.The result of this study gives a conclusion and information based on the data
gathered.In doing the recipe. There is victory and failure the most important you’ve
learn something, I know already the best formula or measurement on my product,
when I made my product the treatment 1 has the best measurement.
For the next /future researcher.You could also make or try this recipe which is De
coconut turon but you should be careful to wrapped it because everyone can’t identify
it when you’re not wrapped it properly.

INTRODUCTION:

Coconut are both delicious and nutritious, and you definitely should include them
in your diet if you want to stay healthy and enjoy your meals in the process. Health
benefits of coconut fruits are numerous. The most important of them are eating
coconuts strengthens you immunity as these fruits process strong Anti- viral
properties, It doesn’t matter what form you choose as every part of the fruit is equally
effective in the fight against bacteria. Coconuts not only provide you with nutrition but
also improve your body’s ability to absorb magnesium and calcium two elements
essential for bone health. Therefore, eating coconuts regularly reduces the risk of
developing osteoporosis.
There is no arguing the fact that coconuts contain plenty of saturated fats, but this
is the reason that makes them so nutritious and allows this fruit to provide you with a
powerful energy boost that will last a while.

A. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY:

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

1. What is the acceptability of the quality attributes of young coconut meat into a
turon?
2. Is there a significant difference on the De coconut turon compare to banana
Turon?
3. Does the respondent like the appearance of coconut turon?
4. Does the respondent like the taste of turon made in coconut meat?

SCOPE AND LIMITATION

This study focuses on the taste of making an Turon made in coconut meat.
The processing of this study occurs in Purok -1 Agsam Integrated School. Its
scope the date conducted Febuary ,14 2019 in Agsam Integrated School.The
purpose of this study is to make another recipe on making a Turon that the
main ingredient is young coconut meat and also that everyone’s can afford
the ingredients. And also to let everybody to try this kind of product with easy
process. The limitation of the outcome or product can only have one purpose
to inform everyone to be able to know that coconut meat is possible to make
as a Turon.

DEFINATION OF TERMS:

COCONUT MEAT- The edible white meat of a coconut’ often shredded for
use in e.g cakes and curries.
LUMPIA WRAPPER- Sometimes called Shang-hai-style egg roll wrappers,
these skins are used typically to prepare lumpia, savor Filipino egg rolls. The
wrappers are made from flour and water, or cornstarch, eggs and water.
CONDENSED MILK- made denser or more concise; compressed or
concentrated, changed from a gas or vapor to a liquid.

HYPOTHESIS

There is significant between young coconut Turon than Banana Turon.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This outcome that follow significantly useful that it helps the Filipino people to
make a business which is Turon but made in Coconut meat, the most important is to
make it’s less expensive and very easy to make. And I think everybody like it!

COCONUT

The coconut palm, Coco Nucifera L, is a member of the family Arecaceae. The
term coconut can refer to the entire coconut palm, The seed, or the fruit, Which
botanically not a nut but a drupe. The fruit is harvested for its white flesh ,husk ,and
coconut water(lerner,2007). It is cultivated for its various benefits, namely nutritional,
medicinal advancement agains diseases and for the development of industrial
products (Mandal,2011).
The coconut takes between 11 and `12 months to reach full maturity. At five
months, the kernel begins to form a thin layer of jelly around the inside of the endocarp
or shell. The shell encloses the tender water, a clear sweet liquid( Prades , et
al,2011).Coconut is a fruit in which an outer skin (exocarp) and fibrous husk
(mesocarp) surrounds a hard husk ( endocarp) with a coconut meat ( endosperm)
inside ( Armstrong,2008).

Many people have used coconut oil as a healthy source of fat. But surprisingly.
Many may have not tried coconut meat. What is coconut meat? Coconut meat is the
flesh of the tropical coconut fruit- also called the coco’s nucifera palm. Coconut meat
nutrition is a packed full of vitamins and minerals. Coconut meat health benefits are
seemingly endless, and people living up nirth should certainly consider coconut meat
in your diet. Coconuts grow on coconut palm trees from the family palmaceae, which
will thrive in tropical climates. In fact coconuts are a large part of diet for many living
in tropical regions. And it is a very versatile and indispensable food for millions living
in the pacific Island, and South and Southest Asia.
And yet, many living in colder regions may have never eaten raw coconut meat.
Coconut meat is considered juicy and tender, tough and fibrous, or slightly thick and
crunchy, depending on how long the kernel has been stored.

contains calcium, zinc, and phosphorus. As far as vitamins, coconut meat also
contains choline, folate. Vitamin B1, vitamin B3 and vitamins B5.

In summary, coconut meat is the flesh of tropical coconut fruit- also called the cocos
nucifera palm. The nutrient-dense fruit is packed with fiber, healthy medium-chain fatty
acids, manganese ,selenium ,potassium , copper ,iron ,and magnesium.
Coconut meat can be juicy and tender, and can be added to various dishes like
salads and smoothies. Other tasty coconut meat dishes can include coconut
butter,coconut bacon, and coconut ice cream.

Turon is a popular Filipino snack that’s sweet, crunchy, and satisfying. Ripe banana,
jackfruit, and brown sugar are rolled together in a flour lumpia wrapper and fried to a
golden crisp.
WHAT IS TURON?
Typically served for Merienda( Filipino afternoon snack) or dessert, Turon has the
perfect blend of flavor and texture. Turon is a treat I grew up eating regularly. We rarely
made it at home because there were several Filipino shops nearby that made fresh
Turon every afternoon. I’m not sure if those little mom and pop shops still exist. It has
been a long time since I’ve visited my childhood neighborhood. When the craving for
something sweet and crunchy hits, I run to the nearest Asian market and find the ripest
Saba bananas they have.
Turon is very easy to make. Super easy. Only a handful of ingredients are needed:
Lumpia wrappers( I keep a stash in the freezer at all times), brown sugar, saba
banana. And jackfruit.
Saba bananas are native to the Philippines .Saba bananas are chubbier, thicker, and
more angular in shape than standard bananas. They can be found as most Asian
markets under various names such as’’ carnaba sweet plantain, or papaya banana
.Saba bananas start off lime green in color. At this point, they’re rock hard. They will
turn yellow as they ripen and gradually soften. They are ready once the peel is deep
yellow with heavy spotting. Saba bananas can be eaten raw.

Coconut and the products derived from it like coconut meat have been for years

METHODOLOGY

The chapter presents the methods and procedures employed in the conduct of
this experimental research. It also includes the research design, materials or the
instrumentation, procedures used in producing the Coconut meat as turon.

RESEARCH DESIGN

The research design used in this study the completely randomized design
(CDR) There will be your treatment with your replication per treatments. The different
treatment are shown in table 1:

RESPONDENT OF THE STUDY:


The respondent of this study was selected section of Grade-11 Edison and
Einstein students of Agsam Integrated school. Some of the Grade-11 Edison taste the
treatment 1 and 2 and the Grade-11 Einstein taste the treatment 3, the number of my
respondent that taste the treatment 1 is 6 and in the treatment 2 has 8 respondent and
in the Grade-11 Einstein that taste in treatment 3 have 18 respondent so that the total
of my respondent was 32 only that taste of own recipe of the Researcher.To see the
effectiveness and to taste the experiment of the researcher.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT:
This study made use of instrument to finalize the questioner that I had made. I
will be giving it to the grade-11 Edison and Einstein, to serve as there test in my
experiment about Coconut meat Turon. The table below serve as guide to help them
to judge that they had tasted.

RESEARCH PROCEDURE
The procedure of this study is have a easy way to make, and also the ingredients
is less expensive,so that its very affordable you can make it in your home. There’s the
procedure of this recipe,First you must be prepare of all the ingredients and tools
needed. After preparing the ingredient and tools you my start cooking,this is the
procedure to follow: First you must crack the coconut first before you scrape after you
scrape it you should put it into a bowl or food keeper then add condensed and vanilla
after that, mix it all , heat the pan and put it into a pan and sautee it. if the coconut is
already sticky put it into a bowl and wait a minute before you wrapped it, after wrapping
you must fry it ,then the procedure is done I’ts ready to serve .

TREATMENT 1

For treatment 1 we need to prepare 1 cup of coconut meat and also you need to
scrape it and ½ cup of condensed milk with ½ spoon of vanilla.

TREATMENT 2

For treatment 2 we need to prepare 2 cup of coconut meat but you need to scrape
it and prepare also of ½ cup of condensed milk with ½ spoon of vanilla.

TREATMENT 3

For treatment 3 we need to prepare 3 cup of coconut meat but you need to scrape
it and prepare also of ½ cup of condensed milk with ½ spoon of vanilla.

GATHERING DATA
Gathering data for the research, the research needs to write and send permission
letter to the adviser teacher that his/her student will be respondent for conducting of
the given treatment. The research needs to give the survey from to the respondents,
Some of Grade-11 Edison and Einstein to taste the researcher product, Some of the
Grade -11 Edison taste the treatment 1 and two and also the grade -11 Einstein taste
the treatment 3, and they should judge or comment on the product, if it just have or
exact formula for each treatment. After that, if they taste the product already. They
must be answer honestly the survey questionnaire based on what their comment about
the product of Coconut Turon.

STATISTICAL TOOLS

In this final gathering data from treatment 1 to 3 is to determine on what are the exact
formula of this product. The researcher needs to calculate the average of every
treatment in order to conclude the final result that is already suits to be exact treatment
or product in making Coconut Turon.

FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS.

FINDINGS
After doing this recipe and conducting a survey and determining the results of the
survey. The researcher has found out that young coconut meat can be also substitute
to the other main ingredient in making a Turon. Based on the results of each treatment
the treatment 1 has a good measurement in making young coconut meat into a Turon
as a recipe. This recipe also is very easy to do or to cooked, after the coconut meat
already scrape put it into a bowl or food keeper.The 1 cup of coconut meat with ½ of
condensed milk and also ½ spoon of vanilla is the best match of measurement to
follow after you mix it all .
After doing it the researcher found out that making” De coconut Turon” is very easy
and also you enjoy to cooked it and also the ingredients is very affordable the main
ingredients is very easy to find because Coconut it’s a lot here in this place. But much
better if you have your own so that it’s very easy to you to made it the other ingredients
is available in the market. Based on my research or my related literature coconut meat
are delicious and nutritious and you should include them in your diet.

CONCLUSION

The result of this study gives a conclusion and information based on the data
gathered.In doing the recipe. There is victory and failure the most important you’ve
learn something, I know already the best formula or measurement on my product,
when I made my product. I admit that it’s tired because imagine you cooked three
treatment so that its really tired and it’s so nervous because I don’t know what it’s a
result of my product . In my treatment 1 I must say that I success because I made it
very well but the problem is I don’t know on to wrapped it like a Turon so when I
wrapped it it’s look like a lumpia. The’y same also the treatment 2 I must say the result
is good but in treatment 3 I must say that I fail to fry it. I must say the appearance of
each treatment are different.Treatment 1 got 5 and in treatment 2 got 4.88 and in the
treatment 3 got 4.17 as you can see the appearance of each treatment is very different
because of frying the treatment 1 got 5 because the oil is new in treatment 2 and 3 the
oil that I used is reused because I used it already in treatment 1 so that the treatment
1 and 3 didn’t got a yummy score. The taste of each treatment is 1 and 2 has they
same rate which is 5 means yummy in treatment 3 has 4.56 rate because I fail to fry it
so that the turon becomes scorching.

RECOMMENDATION

For the next /future researcher.You could also make or try this recipe which is De
coconut Turon but you should be careful to wrapped it because everyone can’t identify
it when you’re not wrapped it properly. You should wrapped it like a turon not like a
lumpia, so that they can identify it easily and properly based on the appearance that
its turon, and also when you fry it you should be careful also the fire, the fire should be
moderate to avoid scorching because we know already that the lumpia wrapper is thin
and its faster to cooked. And also when you fry it you should use a new oil of each
treatment don’t use a reused oil so that the appearance still look yummy, I heartedly
recommend you that the lesser coconut meat is the better, Also the main ingredients
is already known like you look everywhere the coconut is there, if you haven’t coconut
tree in your home just buy it to the people have a coconut tree.
