My philosophy of education is based on what I know and have
experienced at this point in my career as Secondary High School Teacher. I am sure that my teaching philosophy will change as I learn more as a young professional. I believe that a good relationship between a teacher and students is my philosophy of teaching because by this we build a strong foundation of mutual understanding, respect, and trust among students. I believe this is effectively assess students’ wants and needs, we as a teacher must first understand the student’s background.
One thing that I constantly focused on my Philosophy of teaching is
the relationships that I have built with my students. Treating all students with equality, regardless of age, gender, nationality, intellectual ability or personal attractiveness is one way to promote better learning among teachers and Students. In my experiences during my advisory time I really enjoy having conversations with my students about their personal life, problems and also the topic that I was presented to them. When the time I deliver my class students do better because they want me as their teacher because the closeness that I gave to them they are actually excited in times that I deliver my classes. I believe this is one of the reason to promote better learning among my sudents. As a teacher I want my own class to be less of a class lecture and more of activities that will surely gain their knowledge, where we are all sharing ideas and communicating and learning from one another. This is one of the reasons why I love teaching in high school students; the maturity level of these students gives them the ability to clearly articulate their own thoughts and feelings. I have a very firm belief that young people have the ability to make great changes in the world if they are given the right information and tools, and I want to help my students reach their goals in life by giving them the best that I can.
Therefore Teaching is the most rewarding aspect of my professional
career and I consider this as a success. Teaching energizes me and I strive to share my love of teaching and of my discipline with my students. The diverse backgrounds of my students enable them to bring to my classroom a variety of ideas relating to the class material. I want my students to feel that my classroom is a discussion room where they can share their ideas about the subject matter and contribute to the educational experience.
