1. General instructions

1.1. Composition of the manual

This manual is a part of technical document for Shrink Device. It is the

important for safety, reliable, economical management. Also, it is helpful to

improve productivity, the life of device, repair fee and to avoid damage.

Especially, the persons who charges following operations should keep

‘SAFETY’ of operation manual.

- Operation including setting process, dealing with defects

- Maintenance (Service, Inspection, Repair)

- Transportation

- Keep compulsory rules and procedure guidelines for safety and accident

prevention on the work site.

1.2. Warrantys

The performance of device, safe operation, working accuracy will be expected

to maintain for several years.


However, it can be guaranteed in case operation, maintenance, user situation,

electrical features follow rules of inspection.

Under warranty, troubles will be handled according to guarantee conditions

of device manufacturing company

If the user remodels product, he/she is responsible for all troubles, especially,

the remodeling affecting safety.

DH-2000 is guaranteed to use genuine parts only.

Followings guidelines on this manual mean particularly important information.

Attention

It means operation, maintenance and repair procedure.

2.2. Application according to rules

The performance of device is stated on operation manual.

If the user doesn’t follow rules so he/she get damage, the manufacturing

company is not responsible for that.

The user endures danger.

The user should pay attention to keep prescribed inspection procedure,

period, operation process of manual.


2.3. Basic safety rule

This device is manufactured based on effective safety condition and

technique.

It can be dangerous that uneducated user sets the device and uses

improperly.

2.3.1. User safety rule

Precondition for operating device.

User should set the device under suitable conditions. It means that

the device should be cleaned and kept good state.

As soon as changes related to safety appear, it should be

eliminated at once.

Follow the regulated period for regular inspection.

Refer to information of inspection and maintenance of ’MAINTENACE’

on the manual.

All safety devices should be inspected regularly based on


inspection period on ‘MAINTENACE’ and regulated setting procedure

on ‘OPERATION’.

Operation manual should be placed with the device in order that it

is available to user at all time.

Check regularly whether the manual has operation guideline and

valid safety rules or not.

All safety and warning markings should be kept on condition that

user easy to read.

If user needs individual safety devices, he/she should prepare them.

Also, checking all safety devices is user’s obligation to use them

appropriately.

Remodeling (remodeling older device)

If the device is remodeled by other company, parts should be checked by

manufacturing company first.


If the device is remodeled without agreement in writing, it can’t be

guaranteed.

Spare parts

Do not use parts not approved by manufacturing company.

The designed features of device can be changed by using not

approved parts.

Also, it effects a safe operation.

Manufacturing company do not compensate for damage in case user use

non-genuine parts.

The requirements for operating and maintenance

Everyone who is involved in installation, service, operation and

maintenance of the device should read and understand this manual.

Especially, pay close attention to the “Safety” part before

starting work.
This is very important for unskilled workers to prevent the

possibility of accident.

This section describes the precautions to be taken when using DH-

2000.

Make sure to observe them and train unskilled workers.

Only the person who got professional education is allowed to

operate and maintain device.

Allow workers to train this work for using device

under continuous control by a experienced man.

In case of working with two or more people, it has to clarify who

is responsible for the work.

Uncertainty should not be present for safety.

2.3.2. Protective clothing

To reduce the risk of accident, do not wear loose-fitting clothing


or jewelry. Also if you have long hair, you must wear a hat.

- Shoes

Wear safety shoes that are made of steel to protect toe.

- Gloves

When you install this device and using it,

always wear protective work gloves to avoid getting burned and

cutting your finger.

Also, don’t touch any tool with bare hands.

- Safety cap

You should wear safety cap if there is the risk of injury by

falling object.

2.3.3. Operator regulations

Stop operating the equipment immediately when the operating


condition or performance related in safety is changed. Also, you

should inform the person in charge of it and solve it right away.

Refrain from actions can be a potential risk.

When you turn on or operate the device, always check if there is

no one who can be in danger because of it.

All safety and hazard symbols of the equipment must be marked to

be easy to read and followed.

Be careful to clean work area and around the equipment.

This security must be maintained by a person who has received


special training and authority for the operation of the facility.

Safety equipment

If it is available for using complete safety equipment such as

emergency shutdown equipment, the operation of device is permitted.

You should not destroy or stop the safety equipment. Otherwise,

the following risk is expected.

2.4.1. Safety Precautions

Solve problems immediately

 Where is a fire extinguisher?

 Where is a fire alarm box?

 What is the emergency phone number of fire station?

2.5. Specific dangerous

2.5.1. Dangerous in power

If the electric switch cabinet, conduit tube cabinet and operation

panel is open, do not operate it.

If you find some defects in the equipment affecting the electrical

safety of the equipment, turn off the power immediately and do not

operate until the defect is removed.

Connecting wire to power delivery network as well as the work in

electric engineering and electric switch cabinet should be performed

only by qualified professional staff in consideration of proper


instruction and rule at each installation site.

Note

The information about maintenance of electric equipment can be checked

in “maintenance” part.
2.5.2. Danger of electric radiation

There is no danger of electromagnetic radiation if the system is used

properly.

If induction heating is started in the absence of the chuck on coil, it

may result in heat generation in the coil.

Don’t bring any equipment that may interfere with the system.

People who wear pacemakers must main tain at

least 1m away from the equipment.

Also the staff who wear pacemaker should not work

on the equipment.

2.6. Maintenance

2.6.1. Safety measures

Before starting maintenance and repair work, you should take the

following safety precautions.

- Turn off the power switch.


- Master control must be turned off and safety device must be available.

- If external voltage circuit is available, remove it from coil.

- If possible, create pneumatic system.

- Keep maintenance place safe.

- The following points should be checked during repair work.

Check that the operation can be stopped.

Check that it is possible to use the medium which has pressure.

Check that the power is turned on.

Maintenance and repair work must be performed by a person who has

received special training.

The replacements and supplies should be inspected on the date written in

the operating manual.

Before starting maintenance work and special work, the operating worker

should be informed about it.

You must appoint the supervisory staff.

Suitable equipment in workshop is required to carry out maintenance

measures
2.6.2. Cleaning the equipment

Note

The cold detergent is recommended during cleaning.

Do not use a corrosive and harmful material or contaminants of

chlorinated hydrocarbon (PER, TRI).

Do not use steam jet, water injection and compressed air for cleaning.

In this case, contaminants and detergent should be confirmed. This

method can make the operation of measuring system, safety function or

stop switch stopped.

Environment-friendly processing should be selected for used detergent.

3.1. Shipment

Equipment should be packed properly according to the destination.

Land transportation

If it can be delivered to destination by land, equipment is delivered

by truck or rail.

Transportation equipment is packed with box or being tied to pallet or

in the shipping container. The equipment is usually treated for

prevention of corrosion prior to packaging equipment.


International shipping

When shipment is sent abroad, it should be suitably packed for sailing.

Before packaging, the parts of equipment are sealed with foil after

anti corrosion treatment.

NOTE

If the shipment is arrived at destination, make sure that there are no

problems with the cargo. This should be done immediately by the

shipping documents and packing list. Transport company is responsible

for any damages caused during transportation.

3.2. Safety Instructions for the loading of goods

The instructions for loading contained in this chapter must be obeyed.

This is especially applied to the device that hoists containers or

other cargo.

(This device should be maintained level. If the device fall down, it

may make fatal flaws(failure) to electric device.) f at al


Attention when loading consignment goods; Avoid kicking or dropping

the parts of device.

Please check that the loading capacity is available for the crane.

manual and technical data.

When the consignment goods are lifted by crane, do not stand under there

because the life can be threatened.

If you ignore these safety regulations, the risk of accident is increased and the

components of the equipment or unloading equipment can be damaged.


If the equipment is supplied in transport containers (wooden box for shipping

abroad), the information for the loading (destination, a crane load) should be

indicated on the container.

The part of equipment should be firmly fixed to designated area for loading

and hung on crane without overweight

Don’t put the rope in touch with machine parts or around them without any

safety device.

The intermediate layer should be used to prevent damage.

For transport by vehicles, machine parts should not exceed the permitted

loading weight. Pay attention to the safe of movement. Avoid strenuous

vibration.

Only experienced man should tie and fix consignment goods and delegate

charge to crane driver.


A person in charge should be in crane driver’s view and continuous verbal

connection range.

In a chase of preventing slipperiness an arched support should be carefully

and safely moved in accordance with the center of gravity.

A crowbar to lift must be installed with retaining ring.

A rope or a machine component must not slip on a crowbar.

A transfer system should be installed for transportation.

A machine component must not abruptly be craned by equipment to lift or a

crane.

You should slowly and carefully lift a machine component.

Take the possible care that loads are well-balanced

3.3. Storage

When equipment of shrinkage fitting is installed subsequently, you

should pay attention to following information.


In case that a machine component is moved by a truck, it must be kept

in a place where is dry and well-ventilated. It must not be kept

outside.

If a machine component is welded with plastic foil, you do not remove

or drill a hole in plastic foil, otherwise the warranty of

transportation corporation may be expired.

3.4. Cleaning

When shipping, machine etching will be protected.

During cleaning a component, chlorinated hydrocarbon (like PER and TRI)

or similar chemicals are heavily prohibited for prevention of corrosion.

When cleaning, Steam-Jet, Water- Jet and compressed air is not used. On

the other hand, you should take guidance and a confirmation sheet

regarding contaminant and detergent.


This way may break up safety functions, static switches or operative

systems.

Cold detergent is good for cleaning parts of machine components.

If petroleum ether is used for cleaning, you must clean the components

outside in consideration of special safety precautions. (Fire risk)

Cleaning products are used under proper management.

3.5. Transportation and installation

Components which are separately moved from transportation packing

material, you take out equipment of shrinkage fitting.

Installation

- Loosen volts of surface and remove a wooden board.

- Put the basic stand (table) on a horizontal plane, and level off.

- Check connection of all hosepipes.

- Put the equipment of shrinkage fitting on the table.

- Connect a power supply wire of shrinkage equipment to AC 380V 3 power.


After connection, installation is completed.

(At this time, switch of a source of electric power service and

master switch of equipment of shrinkage fitting is turned off.)

- Examine the contents for a test run of equipment of shrinkage

fitting. (chapter3.7)

- Check the specified weight for transporting equipment of shrinkage

fitting.

3.7. Trial Test

1. Assemble equipment of shrinkage fitting in accordance with Chapter

2. Connection the power supply

3 AC 380V 3P+PE 10Kw

High voltage! Fatal danger!

Before connection the wire for power supply, you must check the
switch “OFF”

4. Turn on the switch which is located on the left of the machine and

stay until when ready status is displayed on the display.

Ready light : Shank dia.3 will be displayed.

4. Operation

4.1. Operation Panel


Choose the diameter of tool. This button is used to choose the

diameter to be shrunk.

A standard scale of diameter makes a cycle in an accordance with

reduced order, and a chosen diameter will be displayed on the

display.

increased order, and a chosen diameter will be displayed on the

display.

When push the button “Start” the machine will start the process of

shringking. Before push the button. The head of an induction coil

must be moved an exact location. During the heating process, times

will be indicated on LCD.

If you push the button for about 3 seconds, time of a chosen tool

on LCD flickers on and off, and you can modify time at intervals of

0.1 seconds. If you want to reduce time, push the down button. If
you want to increase time, push the up button. If you want to input

modified time, push this button and the modified time will be saved

in the memory.

4.2. Special instructions regarding Operating Electronic Equipment

- Shrink device must be completely connected to the power cable.

- If you don’t insert the Tool Holder, you must not start the

button “Start”.

Heat will proceed in the induction coil and IGBT, and the power

will be shut, and cause assembled components failure.

(Under any circumstances, you must prevent the induction coil

from inflowing water.)

- There should be no equipment of shrinkage fitting (DH-2000) and

direct connection equipment around.

- You should be careful that there is nothing stuck in an emission cooling

fan.

You can only heat the cool shrinking chuck. If you push the button

“Start” regarding already heated chuck, there is danger of


overheating. It causes device and chuck damage.

Caution

You must not install the shrinking device near the machines

described below.

- An ignescent machine or an electric welder

- A wire exhaust valve and a switch

- Electrostatic coating facility or similar thing

4.3 Change the Tool Holder

4.3.1. Confirm whether Adapter Flange is coincident with boundary surface of

shrinking chuck. Adapter Flange must be chosen for this.

4.3.2. If the Tool Holder is not coincident with boundary surface of shrinking

chuck, you must change the Adapter Flange. In order for this, you put out

the Adapter Flange and insert the accurate Adapter Flange.


4.3.3. Various Tool Holders (MAS BT, HSK, ISD, etc) can be used at client’s

pleasure.

Under any circumstances, you must use the Adapter Flange which has to

meet standards. If you put an Arbor on an unsized Adapter Flange and

operate, heated Arbor can do a person harm, and cause device failure.

4.4 Change the Stop Ring

A Stop Ring is the component which is assembled on the head of

an induction coil Other Stop Rings are chosen for other axis

of diameter and each Tool Holder. Some diameters are classified

as follows.

If you want to change the Stop Ring, you should handle as follows.

4.4.1. Pull out the slider which is on the upper side of head of the induction coil.

4.4.2. Put out the existing Stop Ring


4.4.3. Insert the Stop Ring with exact standard

4.4.4. Insert the slider again and push it until stop.

You should check the slider is exactly located. A rounded side

must be located in front.

A Stop Ring consists of special material, so you do not manufacture

it with steel , or arbitrary things. It causes danger of burns and

changes time of shrinking.

4.5 Procedure of Shrinking of DH-2000

4.5.1. Choose the diameter for work of shrinking on the panel. In order for this work,

you can use the up and down button. ( ) The chosen diameter will be

displayed on the screen/

4.5.2. Insert the Tool Holder to shrink into the Adapter Flange.
4.5.3. Check whether the exact Stop Ring or not. (Chapter 4.5)

An inducible Tool Holder can be shrunk in DH-2000 device.

4.5.4. Move the head of the induction coil to the shrinking fitting

place.

(The upper part of the Tool Holder must be pressing against the Stop Ring.)

4.5.5. Push the button “Start” : Heat treatment will be started. During the heating

process, designated time will be displayed.

During the heating process, you do not touch the head f induction

coil and put something near the device.

Particularly, if you start and put an uninducible thing into th

head and start with on-load operation, the heating device will be

stopped due to a rapid temperature rise on the head and IGBT of

CONTROLLER. If this situation is repeated, it may cause mortality

failure.

4.5.6. It might be in the middle of inserting or removing of too.


So you must have to wear the gloves to prevent the burn, then

please let induction coil-head take back to the original

position.

Please the shrunk product from the coil-head immediately

once the working is completed.If not, coil could be damaged by

heated coil head.

4.6. Additional shrinking

You may have some trouble with shrinking process occasionally.

When you readjust the time for additional shrinking, please

observe following procedure.

4.6.1. Please select suitable diameter for shrink.

The selected diameter is shown on the screen.

4.6.2. Please refer to the 4-1 adjusting panel for readjusting

the shrinking time.


4.6.3. Please press the “start” button and insert (dispatch) to (from) the DH-2000

machine.

Inducible shrinking chuck is only used by DH-2000.

Before using the DH-2000, you must to use the cooled tool holder.

User who wearing treatment aid tool (pacemaker)

Have to keep away from device at least 1m.

4.8 Emergency measures

Suddenly, The operation may be stopped in working.

That’s why the automatic cutout will working for protect

machine when the controller has reached 70 degrees of

temperature. ( exceed 70%, controller can be damaged.)

In this situation, please cut the power supply for a while(about

20~30 minutes), then use again.

4.8.1 Condition of Induction coil and controller exceeding the safe temperature

- If you put the uninduced tool to induction coil-head and press the
“start” button, induction coil and controller’s IGBT part’s

temperature will be increased rapidly.

- In case of radiant heat has transferred to coil by the continuous

work.

- When you let the heated tool holder unremoved from device.

- If you use this device under unsuitable electric current or

voltage, you can some problem with operation.

5. maintenance

5.1. How to deal with many messages

If the many messages are shown constantly, please follow below

directions.

If there are still these problems, please contact maintenance center.

5.1.1. PTC ERROR

Please turn off the power and wait for 10 minutes then turn on again.

5.1.2. OVER CURRENT ERROR

Please turn off the power and wait for 10 minutes then turn on again.

5.1.3. IGBT ERROR

Please turn off the power and wait for 10 minutes then turn on again.

5.1.4. Fuse

When the fuse blows of shrinking device, that kind of situation can

happen.

If you press the main switch but the LCD screen will have no

response.
When the fuse blow out.

After COAD with connected coil-head detach form shrinking machine body,

please separate with assembled bolt of back-side.

Circuit of shrinking machine has to be changed to Glass body fuses. (size :

30A, 20mm)

Please check shrinking machine regularly.
