SWOT analysis of Toyota in U.

Introduction Toyota , although it is a Japanese company, now have successfully become one of
the best automobile manufacturing company in the world for providing best facilities at an
affordable price range. They have grown a huge market for their products in Unighted Kingdom .
So it is quite natural that there are many factors behind their gwoth in U.K like strategy, risk
factors etc. It can be analysed with the help of SWOT and TWOS analysis.

What is SWOT and TWOS analysis basically SWOT and TWOS analysis are two analytical
process by which Internal Environment of a company can be examined.S stands for Strength , W
stands for Weakness, O means opportunity and T is Threat.

Toyota as an automobile company in U.K Toyota comes at NO 8 in the list of top 10 famous
automobile company of U.K (2018 list). It reflects the growing popularity of Toyota there.
Currently the company (TMUK) have two factories in U.K. One is for making vehicle body at
Burnaston in Derbyshire and the other one is at Deed side in North Wales for manufacturing
Engine with the investment of £2.75 billion .

Strength the production power of this company is the main strength. The reliability and
reasonable pricing of the cars are the main reason for the growth of Toyota in U.K. their Just in
Time concept and Total Quality Management are the two big factors for the growth of Toyota
not only in U.K but also in all over the world. They have become a highly recognizable brand for
the durability and value of safety features in the cars produced by them. For their management
system, the continuation of being the leading productive brand is intact though the close
competetors have tried to reproduce this system but this automobile giant is invincible. More
over with just two production unit, they are successfully producing a large variety of cars in
different segments.

Weakness The other brands are now trying to enlist their name in the list of Eco friendly or
green vehicle manufacturing companies where Toyota is less concern about this topic which will
may become an Achilles hill for them in future. The company has faced a large number of
vehicle recoll in last few years. For which they are facing financial loss in a huge number and
hurting their brand name. having only two factories in U.K, it is effecting the production power.
Opportunity It is high time for Toyota to focus on Green or eco friendly vehicle as the peoples
are now showing interest in Eco Green rides because of rising cost of petrol and diesel. They
should start to examine the market and making vehicles according to the requirement of the
market.

Threats Companies like Ford, General Motors, Volkeswagen, Renaults are now competing to
catch the market of U.K as well as in all over the world.The rising price of the Raw materials are
also another reason of threats for companies like Toyota .Being a Japan based company, another
main threat is the constant change in the exchange price of Yen in respect of other countries
because the profit amount may differ when it is converted into Yen.

Conclution It is the right time for Toyota to think differently rather according to the market to
stay in the competiton. More focus on the market and manufacturing eco friendly vehicles can be
a significant mark for them. Investing more money and establishing some more factories and
proper use of efficient skilled labours of U.K will be beneficial because it will increase there
production and sell as well.
