resourceful individual will taste defeat. But there is, in this case, always tomorrow after you have done your best to achieve success today.
Dear Members of AHMO
I am shocked and grieving over the untimely death of Floresville
Councilman Gerald Jimenez. But my feelings are secondary to the fact that the City of Floresville has lost a groundbreaking advocate for equality of the Hispanic community, economic opportunity and neighborhood safety.
Councilman Jimenez was re-elected to Floresville Place 4 in 2017. He
retired from Kelly Air Force Base and studied Business Administration at Texas Tech University. He was the right person to give definition to the alliance of the city and businesses: A hard worker. He shared in the vision of economic advances and strides towards growth of the city for the prosperity of the citizens.
Councilman Jimenez captured the essence of being an enlightened public
servant for Floresville who pushed for the advancement of our fellow Hispanic leaders. My heart goes out to his family, his colleagues and all city residents.
We were friends, colleagues long before we served on council together and
he will be greatly missed. He dedicated his service to the city to ensure justice, dignity, equality and made sure to instill those values in myself. We will certainly be impacted by the loss of Councilman Gerald Jimenez, an excellent public servant who fought for a better Floresville.
