Sir:
Experiencing film showing is a resource for experiential ways to teach content, concepts, and skills
to provide relevance, to meet the learning needs of all students and to extend the learning process
beyond the classroom walls.

Sining Pinagpala, Inc. and the MAPEH Department. The said activity will be held on November
10, 2019 at SM Cinemas –Dasmariñas at 8:00am to 12:00noon.

Grade 10
Naturally, students like to amuse themselves whenever they get bored on the same approach the
teacher do in class. Nowadays, movies have become one of the major ways of entertaining students
while learning. For us [teachers], this film viewing is more than that, in fact they inspire students
and really touch their feelings, and it can redefine their way of thinking.
Sure, the chances are considerable student’s would recognize something like that the minute they
walk out of theater. But, all of that aside, their lives are changed every time they see a movie,
because they’ve seen something they haven’t seen before. Even if it was a cliché-ridden exercise in
genre, it was different. It was different because they saw it for the first time, and, whether they
know it or not at the time, it had an effect on them.
Summing it up, we believe deeply in the value of film-viewing as a learning process, not a specific
outcome. We also believe there is no
better place to authentically
encounter this type of learning than
through off-campus experience
where independence, self-advocacy,
and self-awareness become primary
tools for each student. The school’s
educational philosophy rooted in
hands-on, experiential learning
opportunities has a history that
dates back more than five years. In
large part, this is why our off-
campus programs are always almost
full, providing students a truly life
changing experience each year. This culture of off-campus activity is a by-product of on-campus
support systems - relationships with faculty advisors, parents and teachers - building the confidence
in each of our students to step outside their comfort zone and into the challenges that await them in
an off-campus activity.
