EXERCISE # 3

Setting Margins, Indention, and Drop Cap

Paragraph indents refer to the way lines of a paragraph are set off from text in the rest of the document.
The margin markers for this paragraph are set at 0 on the left and 6 on the right.

This paragraph is indented on both the left and right by dragging the margin
markers on the ruler. These new left and right marker settings are shown on the
ruler because the insertion point is currently positioned in this paragraph.

First-line indents refer to the way the first line of a paragraph is indented. When the first-line
indent marker is set as shown on the ruler for this document, pressing Enter key will position the insertion
point half inch inside the left margin – you do not have to press Tab Key each time you start a new
paragraph.

A hanging indent is another kind of first-line indent that is useful when you are typing itemized or
number lists. When you use a hanging indent, the first line of the paragraph starts to the left of
the rest of the lines of text on the paragraph.
