ABSTRACT
MULTI STORY BUILDING OF NATIONALTIONAL UNIVERSITY OF TIMOR LESTE IS
located on the main route from Audian to Vilaverde, in area Kaikoli. The building will be built
vertically with the number six floors consisting of five floors and a roof floor. Building structure
designed use Special Moment Resisting Frame System based on Concrete requirements for
structural building Codes (SNI 2847-2013)Analysis of seismic loading was conducted using
Dynamic Spectrum response method based on Indonesian Earthquake Resistant Building Codes
(SNI 03-1726-2012) and standard load of building based on (SNI 1727:2013). In designing this
building structure, we used the concept of capacity design. The purpose of this concept was to
provide enough ductility by designing plastic hinges on beam. In order to guarantee plastic
hinges are formed on the beams, the columns should be designed to be stronger than the beams
(Strong Column Weak Beam).

INTRODUCTION
1-1Background:
There is growing responsiveness of multi-stories reinforced concrete structures, to accommodate
growing population. Generally such structures have prismatic sections which are common in
developing countries, which resist applied loads without any appreciable deformation of one part
relative to another. It is the need to accomplish some Function, one of them is to receive loads
(usually known as service loads) at certain points & transmit them safely to other points that
prompt the designer to give life to a structure furthermore since it is the need for a safe,
serviceable, feasible and aesthetically pleasing fulfillment of a structure. The ultimate aim of
structural analysis is to design all the structural elements of a structural system in such a way that
they perform their functions satisfactorily and at the same time assist design to become efficient,
elegant and economical which helps to choose the right type of sections consistent with economy
along with safety of the structure.
