I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard: The learner will be able to understand and appreciate the elements and
contexts of 21st century Philippine literature from the regions.
B. Performance Standard: The learner will be able to demonstrate understanding and appreciation of
21st Century Philippine literature from the regions through: 1. a written close analysis and
critical interpretation of a literary text in terms of form and theme, with a description of its
context derived from research; and 2. an adaptation of a text into other creative forms using
multimedia
C. Learning Competencies
 Infer literary meaning from literal language based on usage
EN12Lit-Id-26
 Analyze the figures of speech and other literary techniques and devices in the text
EN12Lit-Ie-27
KBI: The students will develop their sense of cooperativeness during the
group activity.

Contextualization: Students are going to perform the traditional way on


how to court a girl.

 Major genres (poetry, fiction, drama, creative nonfiction, as well as hyperpoetry, blogs, chick
lit, speculative fiction, flash fiction, etc.)

The teacher will give a statement to the students and ask them what kind of statement was that.

Activity
The teacher will present the poem “New York City” to the students and they will be asked what
they have noticed in the poem.
Analysis
What kind of language did the writer of the poem used?
Abstraction
The teacher will discuss about the figures of speech.
Application
The learners will be grouped into five and present a short dramatization portraying the way on
how to court a girl nowadays and in the traditional way using figurative languages.
Criteria:
Content- 10pts.
Relevance- 10pts.
Presentation- 10pts.
TOTAL- 30pts.
