INTRODUCTION TO EMCEEING
“Kaya nga mga kapatid, magpakatatag kayo at huwag matitinag. Magpakasipag kayo sa gawain para sa Panginoon yamang
alam ninyong hindi nasasayang ang inyong pagpapagal para sa Kanya.”
1 Cor. 15:58
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord
your labour is not vain.”
1 Cor. 15:58
Emceeing is one of the many ways by which we could serve God. The word of God says, “Always abound in
the work of the Lord” we are advised to be “busy doing God’s work” or be resourceful in finding ways to
serve God. The word also means whatever our hands find to do; God is still the centre of our labor.
Emcees are not the stars of the event. Emcees are the bridge between events in the program. The role of the
Emcee is to facilitate the event and ensure a smooth flow of the program. They are responsible for ensuring
that events start and end ON TIME.
TIPS ON EMCEEING
1. PREPARE – God requires preparation. Before God takes an action, He gives time for His people
to prepare. In Exo. 7:1-5 Noah prepared for the flood; Jonah 1:1-2, God sent Jonah to Nineveh
before He decides to destroy the city; Gen. 47, Joseph gathered for seven years in preparation for the
famine.
a. Program preparation – Prepare for every detail of the program.
i. Time – Start to end
ii. Line Up – Prayer and presentation/intermission
iii. Script – Introduction, announcement, closing
b. Emotional preparation - Col. 4:5 Conduct yourselves wisely.
c. Physical - Co. 3:24b You are serving the Lord Christ. Dress and look your best.
3. PRAY – Col. 3:2. Continue steadfastly in prayer. Ask God for wisdom and guidance. He may
impress a word or instruction which will help you in program preparation.

DO’S AND DON’TS ON EMCEEING
Do’s
Be early. Filipino time is ahead of time. Being early will help you think of something for the attendees
to do while waiting for the start of the program. Preparing a good music video (like “Heart of Worship”
or “”Draw me Close”, As the Deer”) is ideal to set the heart of the early comers.
Join the PW on their morning devotion, usually at 8:15am. This is required for the MC’s. PW Team
comes at 7:30AM.
Coordinate with the PWL for opening, welcome and closing song. It is better to no longer call them
in stage, but instruct them instead to position themselves right before they are needed.
Coordinate with the Ushering Team before the start of the service for visitor recognition. Ask the
ushers if the visitor would like to be acknowledged. Note that not all visitors would like to be
recognized, some are just shy.
Inform the Speaker and Emceeing Head (Jeramie Agbanawag) for testimonies. Testimonies should be
written and presented to them prior to the schedule
Start the program on time, even when others are still coming. (In LA, 9:00am and 5:30pm. You may
use count down timer and signal the PW team to be in place 10 seconds before it elapse)
Make a good short welcome remarks.
Relate the introduction to speaker with the topic. Introduction for regular speakers are no longer
needed.
Complement the speaker and recap the message before proceeding to the next event.
Familiarize yourself with the list of announcements
Coordinate with the pastor for closing prayer
Pray before selecting your line ups (Prayers, testimony, special no., etc). Coordinate with them to seat
in front to avoid waiting time when called
Select four elders for the Lord Supper (usually every 1st Sunday of the month)
Encourage everyone to come earlier next Sunday. Worship is the most important part of the service
not the message
Keep smiling. Radiate excitement and enthusiasm with the audience =)
Don’ts
Do not come unprepared. Remember God honours preparation
Never ask the audience for other announcements. They do not know. It’s your job to know.
Coordinate with the pastor or training committee for the upcoming activities. Do not just rely on the
prepared announcement template. Check and revise if needed
Avoid dead time. Use play or relate strategy before the program starts

thing .”
Kaya sa oras na ito tayo ay magbigay ng pag-ibig sa bawat isa. Magbatian po tayo ng may ngiti, at sabihin
