Checklist for a Master's application via uni-assist

For an application for a Master’s degree course at TU Berlin, the following documents must be send
by post to uni-assist completely and in due time by the end of the application period:

1. Application form - print from the uni-assist portal

2. Primary university degree/undergraduate degree - officially certified copy incl. official translation,
if not issued in German or English

including your university degree certificate as well as a summary of your study subjects,
grades and credit points (transcript)

or

if you have not completed your Bachelor’s studies yet, an ECTS certificate

3. Proof of German language proficiency - officially certified copy incl. official translation, if not issued
in German or English

for all degree courses with German as the language of instruction

A proof of German language proficiency is not required for applicants who are holding a German
citizenship and/or a German university entrance qualification (Abitur, university degree,
etc.)!
General information on the proofs and certificates of language proficiency are provided on our
website.

4. Copy of your passport or ID card (biographical page with personal data) - simple copy
5. Further specific proofs and certificates (degree course related) - incl. official translation, if not
issued in German or English

Some of our Master’s degree courses require further specific proofs or certificates. For example a
proof of English language proficiency. Please visit our website for more information on the specific
requirements of your desired Master’s degree course.
If you have further questions on the formal requirements of these specific proofs and certificates
or if you have questions with regard on contend, please contact the responsible student advisory
service of your desired Master’s program.

6. Current certificate of enrollment or certificate of exmatriculation of the last German university

that you were enrolled at - simple copy
7. Proof of previous Master’s studies (at a German university) - simply copies or uploads on uni-assist
portal

summary of your study subjects, grades and credit points (transcript)

module descriptions
study and examinations regulations (“Studien- und Prüfungsordnung – StuPO”)
Further relevant proofs and certificates

8. Application for a higher semester

The following documents have to be submitted by post at the TU Berlin Graduate Admissions
Office in required form and in due time. Please the respective information on our website.
Credit transfer application - part A with the placement into the appropriate term of studying
(Fachsemester) if you want to apply for a lateral entry in a Master’s degree course
(“Quereinstieg”)

or

Credit transfer application - part A with the placement into the appropriate term of studying
(Fachsemester) if you want to change the university while maintaining your previous Master's
degree course (“Hochschulwechsel”) or continue a formerly canceled Master's degree course at
TU Berlin (“Wiedereinschreiber”) (Applies only to master's programs without restriction on
admission.)
