Subject Feedback for reply to First Practice Case
Hi Jennifer,

You have some good thoughts and questions in your practice case reply. I'd like for us
to work on writing it in a more casual style. I am going to send it back to you with my
re-written example and a few comments. Take what you see and rewrite it before we
move on.

Just one quick note here...there are too many questions for "Lisa" to answer at once.
Try to ask three or four at the most and to ask them informally rather than in a list. The
idea is to create a conversation more than an interview.

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Karen

My notes below are in pink so you can see them. :-) I also made some corrections so
you can see what looks more natural in English conversational writing. Remember that
I am here to help you. Be sure to let me know if you have questions.

Hello, Lisa!

May the Lord comforts (comfort) you, Lisa. I can imagine this will be is a very difficult
situation for you. Thanks for sharing your life. I am so sorry for what had happened to
your marriage.

Contemplating of what you've shared especially on your question 'if you settle for
marriage too early', i may say that both of you and your husband are were still
emotionally young at that time when you got married, though you were already at the
marriageable age. I pray and hopeful that you won't quit and stop working out for your
marriage. I am here willing to listen with you in this journey. I will be praying also for
your husband. May the Lord will enlighten his mind and touch his heart and go come
back to your family.

As I mentioned in my other message, there are too many questions below. Also, we
would ask them in more of a conversation than a list. I have crossed out a couple of
them for now. You can use them later, if you like.

I've also crossed out every place you used the phrase "may I know". We don't really use
this in casual speaking. :-) Below your questions I wrote a paragraph that includes
them so you can see what this would look like.

Let me asked ask you some questions, Lisa:

* may i know if you were neighbor (your husband) in your childhood? In her
message to you she mentioned that they were high school sweethearts. Since you
already know they knew each other a long time, you don't really need this one.
* before this problem came or within that span of 25 years, how is was your
communication with your spouse? how do you work
out for on your marriage? what did you usually do have you done since then?
* may i know also if Did both of you attended church fellowships before?
* before you came to know this eMentoring, to whom have you shared this problem
of yours?
* may i know how were you able to know did you learn about eMentoring?

How was the communication in your marriage before this happened, Lisa? It sounds
like it was such a shock to you. I'm also wondering if you have a church family. Did
you and your husband attend a church together?

Glad to hear you back Lisa. God loves you so much!

Subject Taking a training break
Great questions, Jennifer. First of all, let me assure you that we will continue to practice
for a while before you start eMentoring a "live" person. We will continue to the practice
case we are doing and then do a different one.

Once we do more of our training, I will let you know you have "graduated" and hand
you over to a Team Leader. She is a staff member who will be available to help you and
work with you as you mentor. And don't forget the Mentor Guide...It is there for you to
learn from. Read the Scriptures and the articles when you are working with
someone about a particular issue.

Warmly,

Karen
