1. Scope & Purpose:


This procedure covers material, supervision and methods of hot dip
galvanizing of foundation bolts.

2. Purpose:
The purpose of this procedure is to provide guidelines for treatment of

Repairing of above to be done as per technical specification and relevant
manufacturer guidelines.

4. Material Description.
The following shall be procured ad used for the repairs:

 Power sprayer.
 Spray Nozzles.
 PPE: gloves, respirator, safety warning device, safety shoes etc.

6. Procedure:
The details of concrete shall be repaired based on depth and severity of
defect as follows.
a) Surface Preparation.

a) Surface Preparation.
 To obtain a uniform, adherent surface, the steel should be clean &
uncontaminated.

b) Method of application.
Under PCC of Plinth & grade slab in plant building.
 After the site clearance, the application shall immediately begin by
first preparing and mixing the solutions of approved anti termite
material diluted with water as per manufacturer’s recommendation.
 The top surface of consolidated earth within plinth wall shall be
treated with chemical emulsion at the rate of 4-5 litre/m2 of the
surface before the sand bed or subgrade is laid. If the filled earth has
been well rammed and surface does not allow the emulsion to seep
through, holes up to 50-75 mm deep at 150c/c both ways may be
made with 12mm Dia mild steel rod on the surface to facilitate the
saturation of the soil with chemical emulsion.

c) Insure proper mixing of chemical emulsion
d) Indian standard IS 6313

8. Safety concerns:

a) All above work shall be carried out carefully followed by IS 6313-


2013.
b) All the chemical specified in this specification is highly poisonous for
human body, these may cause adverse effect when it comes with the
contact of skin or inhale. It is advisable to take sufficient safety
measures during application and preservation of this chemical.
c) PPE’s shall be used properly by all workman.
d) Only competent workman should be performing.
