MEDGATE - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Is Medgate available 24/7?


Yes. You may contact Medgate anytime from Mondays to Sundays.

2. How can I contact Medgate?


You may call any of their hotline numbers below:

3. Are their numbers toll-free?


No. Applicable phone charges will apply.

4. I am a newly regularized employee, can I call Medgate?


Yes. All regular employees of CVG are enrolled in Medgate.

5. Will Medgate accommodate probationary and seasonal employees?


No. Medgate is only available to those regular employees as they have Intellicare coverage.
Probationary and seasonal employees can seek medical assistance thru CVG site clinic.

6. Will Medgate accommodate my dependents?


Yes. All active dependents are enrolled in Medgate.

7. If I have exhausted my Intellicare benefit limit, will Medgate still accommodate me?
No. Medgate is an extension of your Intellicare benefit. Your availment in Medgate will be
deducted from your benefit limit. Thus, if limit has been utilized, Medgate can no longer
accommodate your availment.

8. Shall I call Medgate if I need urgent medical attention?


No. Medgate is for Outpatient consultations only. For Emergency cases, please go to the ER
section of the nearest hospital.

9. Can Medgate answer my Intellicare benefit related questions (ex: benefit limit, coverage,
dependent status, account number, etc.)?
No. Please direct your queries to Intellicare by calling any of their hotline numbers:
(02)789.4000, (02)902.3400, CALAMBA - (049) 545-5081, CEBU - (032) 255-1282, BACOLOD -
(034) 707-2047, CDO - (0882) 272-6327 and DAVAO - (082) 222-3577.

10. Who will I talk to if I call Medgate?


Registered nurses will assess first your illness then transfer you to a Medgate doctor.

11. What if I have a skin problem and I want the Medgate doctor to see it?
Please download their application “Medgateph” available on Android and iOS. You can send
a picture to Medgate or have a video call with their doctor using the application.

12. Can I call Medgate again regarding the same illness?


Yes. If you call within 3 days from your initial call regarding or related with the same illness,
Medgate will consider it as 1 availment/utilization only.

13. What if the Medgate doctor requests for procedures that I need to undergo?
After the call, you will receive an e-mail with your call summary and prescription of procedures
which you can present to any of the accredited clinics listed in the e-mail.

14. Will the procedures be covered?


It depends on your benefit limit and coverage.

15. How will I have my results interpreted after availing the procedures prescribed by Medgate
doctor?
The determined clinics listed in the e-mail can forward your results to Medgate if you would like
to by signing a waiver upon availment of procedure. Medgate will call you through your mobile
or landline number directly upon release of results.
