Time Allocation : 2.4 Describes the application of biotechnology in
support human survival through food production.
Indicator : • Record conventional biotechnology products
and modern in the environment.

• Identify the function on effect of conventional biotechnology


application
• Makes the conventional biotechnology product that be used in
our daily life.

I. Learning Objectives
Students able to :
A. Explain biotechnology definition;
B. Give some kinds of biotechnology application to the food and beverage products;
C. Explain how to make the food uses the role of microorganisms such as tempe, tapai and brem;
D. Give some kinds of biotechnology application in medical aspect;
E. Give some kinds of biotechnology application in agriculture aspect;
F. Describes how to grow plants in hydroponics;
G. Describes how to multiply the plants by tissue culture method;

A. Preliminary
Teachers give a perception with the question, "Did you know
about biotechnology?
B. Core Activities
1. Students were asked to explain the understanding of biotechnology.
2. Students are asked to name the bacteria used in
food production.
3. Students are asked to show how to create tempe,

plants live without soil media?"

1. Students are asked to discuss the media other than land that can be
used to breed plants.

4. Students are asked to give examples of animals resulting from the process
