Collaborative Model
Instruction from within the classroom will aid Ross in interacting with his peers while building on his weak vocabulary and language through
shared reading activities.

Preplanned # 1 MEASURABLE ANNUAL GOAL: Vocabulary


Behavioral By 11/10/20, Ross will name, describe and categorize new vocabulary and concepts with minimal prompting 4/5 measured
opportunities, over 3 consecutive sessions.
Objectives
# 2 MEASURABLE ANNUAL GOAL: “Wh” questions
By 11/10/20, Ross will formulate complete “Wh” questions with 80% accuracy, during 4/5 measured opportunities, over 3
consecutive sessions.

SOL Objective: 2.2 The student will expand understanding and use of word meanings.
a) Increase listening and speaking vocabularies.
b) Use words that reflect a growing range of interests and knowledge.
c) Clarify and explain words and ideas orally.
d) Identify and use synonyms and antonyms.
e) Use vocabulary from other content areas.
Teaching 1. Schedule: A schedule will be provided and reviewed at the start of the therapy session.

2. Shared Reading: Ross and his class will participate in a shared reading. The clinician will point out new
vocabulary by asking the class if they know specific words in the book.

3. Story Retell: The clinician will have the class work together to complete different tasks such as retelling
the shared story, telling the main character, telling the plot, and answering additional “Wh” questions.

Direct Intervention Model: In a small group


Instruction in a focused small group will aid Ross in specifically working on the skills in deficit: vocabulary and “wh” questions.

2. Scramble: Ross will play the game scramble. The game involves the student to create words. In addition
to playing the game, Ross will be expected to provide the definition of the words he creates and provide
the clinician with a sentence using the word he creates.

3. “Wh” jeopardy: After a brief refresher on what each question word signifies, Ross will play a game of
“Wh” jeopardy where the columns will denote the type of question he will be asked.
