CONTEMPORARY ISSUES

Any modern-day trend, event, idea, or topic around a current subject that is
relevant to people can be defined as a contemporary issue. From climate change
to technology, social issues to health, contemporary issues abound in almost
every area of our current lives.

CLIMATE CHANGE
 What is the purpose of the study?

- The purpose studying of climate change is to show how the effect of it, how the
damage that can affect to us. The government was studying how we stop the
climate change, they did everything to stop it, Let see and show the BAD effect
of CLIMATE CHANGE.

- The purpose is to show how government or us can stop the climate change
and in what ways.

- The purpose why I choose this study is to wake up the people that we need
to stop the climate change In simple ways.

- The purpose of this is to show the problem.

- To show that climate change carrying bad effect.

- To show and enumerate the problems.

- To show the solution of the problem

There are the image and information of climate change and how bad effect
of it.

Introduction

• Climate change is an enormous challenge facing humankind today.

• Undoubtedly,it is the single largest environmental threat facing the planet, and

we need to act fast to mitigate it.

• There is much that need to be done and much that can be done to halt the
catastrophic impacts of cliamte change.
What is Climate Change?

Climate Change is natural phenomenon and has been occurring since the earth came
into being. Climate change is a change in the average weather of a given area or
region. This includes temperature, wind patterns, and precipitation. This change is
referred to in a global sense and concerns the earth as a whole.

about the climate change. Look below the picture

Trade Issues: A Country Case Study of the
Philippines
 What is the purpose of the study?

This study begins with an overview of the poverty situation in the Philippines. It then
takes a brief look at the poor in the rural areas, followed with a discussion of the
poor in the informal sector. It then, brings these two sectors together, with an
examination of the poor and the urban/rural and formal/informal divides. It concludes
with a discussion of the relationship among trade, poverty and the structural
transformation of the Philippine economy.

Note: This working paper is circulated for discussion and comment purposes. This
paper was written in response to a joint call for papers by the World Trade
Organization and the World Bank. A detailed and comprehensive abstract, on which
this paper is based, went through the screening process of a WTO/World Bank
selection committee.

The typical analysis of poverty or international trade generally focuses solely either
on one topic or the other. In this paper, however, we have a twin focus on both trade
and poverty, and the linkages and connections between the two topics.

They begin with the daunting realization that the drivers of poverty in the Philippines
-- and elsewhere -- are multi-dimensional, and therefore complex. But they hope to
throw some light on the impact that trade openness can have on the poor.

While they start with the premise that economic growth (an equally complex object
of study) will remain the key driver of poverty reduction, and trade will continue to be
a critical driver of economic growth, they keep an open mind as to the evidence they
may uncover in examining the effects of increased trade openness on the livelihoods
of the poor [1].

Their task requires a focus on the characteristics of the poor and an understanding
of how the poors interact (or do not interact) with international markets. We strive to
understand the constraints the poor face, based on who the poor are, where they
are, and the economic activities they are involved in. An in-depth analysis of the
characteristics of the poor is required to identify the main constraints faced by the
poor that need to be addressed.

Before they proceeding, it needs to be said that their discussion takes off from the
four relevant dimensions of poverty in relation to trade openness [2]. Their selection
of the rural and informal sector dimensions of poverty springs from the striking
relevance of these two dimensions to the Philippine economy. This paper is
organized as follows. Section 2 begins our discussion with an overview of the
poverty situation in the Philippines. In Section 3, we take a brief look at the poor in
the rural areas. This is followed in Section 4 with a discussion of the poor in the
informal sector. Then, Section 5 brings these two sectors together, with an
examination of the poor and the urban/rural and formal/informal divides. Lastly,
Section 6 concludes with a discussion of the relationship among trade, poverty and
the structural transformation of the Philippine economy.

So let talk about the poverty and trade issues.
