TRANSCEND 2018

EVENT OVERVIEW

With the formation of the Holy Angel University – College of Engineering back in July 23,
1963, the Civil Engineering Department (now from the newly articulated School of
Engineering and Architecture) was established two years after the initial offering of its
general engineering course. The program was given Government Recognition
immediately after the graduates of its pioneering batch had achieved 100% passing in
the Civil Engineering Board Licensure Examinations. This initial success of the
department has led to the offering of other engineering degree programs by the
university.

As a step towards achieving our goal, the department, along with the Philippine
Institute of Civil Engineers – Holy Angel University Student Chapter (PICE-HAUSC) and
Esplana Engineering Review Center (EERC), will be hosting its 1st HAU-CE Interschool
Quiz Bee. A whole day event entitled “TRANSCEND: To Rise Above. To Go Beyond”.
Gracing the occasion are civil engineering students from different colleges and
universities across the country. The said contest aims to promote scholastic excellence
and competence through healthy and fair competition, and at the same time, provide
an opportunity for interaction and fellowship among students and faculties from other
schools.

The organizers hope that the experiences and learning acquired through this event will
contribute to the consciousness of future Civil Engineers as regards to valuing
intellectual integrity and upholding the Civil Engineering Profession to its highest
standards.
