Every CV is different as you want to show
why your set of skills make you suitable for
the position you are applying for at that
moment, but all follow a similar structure

CV is a personal marketing document used to sell
yourself to prospective employers or scholarship
provider.
It should tell them about you, your professional
history and your skills, abilities and achievements.
ultimately, it should highlight why you're the best
person for the job or the other opportunities

The section must include in your CV
• Name
• Professional Title
• Contact Details (Phone and Email)
• Address
• LinkInd (Optional)

Personal Detail
Knows as a personal statement, career objective and
professional profile
A short paragraph that sits just underneath your name and
contact details giving prospective employers or scholarship
provider an overview of who you are and what you are all
about (who are you, what can you offer the company or
guarantor, what are your career goals)

Provides information about your education.
Most of them from elementary school to the
current level of education in order. Also state
the time of study, name of the institution,
This section give the readers where you are
graduated from.

Experience and Employment History
Employment history sections give you a chance to outline your previous
jobs, internship and work experience. List of them in reverse
chronological order as your recent role.
Very important to state the job title, the employer, the date, and a line
that summaries the role, your key responsibility, skill and achievement.
These statements used to supported by the documents such as
certificates, letter of acknowledgements, etc.

Pay attention about the propose of CV, sometime we need to consider


the duration of working experiences, type of job applying for.

This section show your activities and your
achievement in research. You need the
state your research product, such as paper
or journal, where your research published.
This is important both in finding job or
applying scholarship

This section show your expertise based on
the reward you get. It could be related to
your job, your academic process,
competition you join at, or your
performance in particular activities

Additional Sections
The possible information that may strengthen
your CV and highlight your skills. Such as your
language ability, training or seminar attended,
your special skills, hobbies and interest, etc.
this section can boost your document, but add relevant
information carefully. avoid the thing doesn't have value to
your CV

Formatting and Spacing Guidelines
Consider:
• Length (how many pages)
• Headings (each section must be introduced by a big, bold heading to
ensure an easy read
• Font type (use clear font like Calibri or Arial)
• Font size and page margins ( FS 10-12 pt, heading 14-18 pt, 2.5 cm
margin
• Double check the words, avoid typo etc.
