Acknowledgement

The satisfaction that accompanies that the successful completion of any task would
be incomplete without the mention of people whose ceaseless cooperation made it
possible, whose constant guidance and encouragement crown all efforts with
success.

We would like to express our gratitude to Our Teacher Mrs. Pooja Mittal, who
has given us their best suggestion, support and help us towards the completion of
our Project “Student Information System”.

Also we would like to thank all our friends of DCSA, MDU, for their useful
suggestions at the time of Project Development.

I, Sonali Maggu hereby declare all the work presented in the dissertation entitled to
our Project “Student Information System” compiles with the terms and condition
of my project. It is not a property of any other individual/team/organization and is
purely work of mine.

It is due to the supportive and helping nature of our Professors that we have been
able to gain so much.

However, I endeavored many comprehensive pictures of details about working of

my Project.

Student Information System
AN OFFICE UTILITY PROJECT

Introduction
The system provides different access rights and login for the users such as
administrator, clerk and registered members. The proposed system helps the
Administrator to configure the basic settings details. The system also provides
facility for the entering details of new student, updating the record of enrolled
student. The administrator is also responsible for deleting the information about the
student. List of all student can be generated into single page window.

The system provides an easy, efficient way to store student information such as
Student Name, Address, Phone Number, Guardian Name and Roll Number etc.
which can be accessed by system administrators and he/she can be able to delete
update and even add new records.

Methodology
In our project we used the waterfall model. The waterfall model is a popular
version of the systems development life cycle model for software engineering.
Often considered the classic approach to the systems development life cycle, the
waterfall development has distinct goals for each phase of development. Imagine a
waterfall on the cliff of a steep mountain. Once the water has flowed over the edge
of the cliff and has begin its journey down the side of the mountain, it cannot turn
back. It is the same with waterfall development. Once a phase of development is
completed, the development proceeds to the next phase and there is no turning
back.

The advantages of waterfall development is that it allows for departmentalization

and managerial control. A schedule can be set with deadlines for each stage of
development and a product can proceed through the development process like a car
in the carwash and theoretically, be delivered on time. Development moves from
concept, through design, implementation, testing, installation, troubleshooting, and
strict order, without any overlapping or iterative steps.

The disadvantage of waterfall development is that it does not allow for much to go
back and change something that was not well-thought out in the concept stage.
Alternatives to the waterfall model include joint application development (JAD).
Rapid application development (RAD), synch and stabilize, built and fix, and the
spiral model.

Future Enhancement
Future Scope:

i) Managing Records in today’s life is very important and managing them

through Computer is the way of managing records in fast way, So
Educational Organizations take benefits of this Student Information
System.
ii) This Student Information System is extended to manage student fees,
attendance records etc…
iii) Export and Import Student record option also included in this in future.

The future scope of this application is highly reliable, more reusable, quit flexible and
able for updating of next version to the maximum extent. This project is system based
that is why it will be much more helpful and reliable.

It is directly dependent on the lay stone of the project that is we will have to design a
system which when the time passes having a better system initially should not become
a joke later.

It is highly likely that the scope will change as the windows application project moves
forward; the windows process model should be incremental. This windows based
application can be changed into web based application in future. Besides that, the
following basic quality in the software always safeguards the future scope of the
software.

CONCLUSION
The system “Student Information System” is about managing student’s record and
finally we conclude that it is used by any educational Organization to manage their
student’s records.
