User Journey Map

It has been an interesting journey throughout the design thinking session over the 5 weeks.

Design thinking had gotten me new skillset, especially for problem solving. Before that, all the
solution creations that I have been involved in be it work or school had been something that we as
creator wanted to solved, not necessary what the users might need.

I did not manage to go through the interview session for the empathise segment but I had learnt
quite a bit using the recording and recording. One of the things that I realised is to ask the correct
question with the correct tone and intention. It is important to be able to rein in the interviewee so
that you get the correct response to your question and also to correctly frame the way you ask the
questions.

Defining the problem is interesting where we try to group the quotes that the users face into groups
and then try to come out with the SINPOC chart. Try to find out where stakeholder stands are also
interesting but much discussion is required for each stakeholder on the power they hold.

Ideate is interesting because we get to list out all of our ideas. This is where what we have
experience in our workplace can be used as ideas and we can make even it more optimised and
more user centric as we want to be. It also digs into the blue ocean innovation where ideas will need
to be helpful to the users rather than one sided view of the creator. The subsequent review of ideas
and deciding on what to do as a group is a learning experience for me. Not everyone will take your
idea as they have their own experience and trying to get their buy in or admitting defeat that your
ideas has not been chosen is relatively new to me.

Prototyping is interesting where we will try to design on how the app will look like. With much
discussion in place. After the first initial presentation, I found webtools that actually help with the
prototyping of our application. This is certainly new to me and something that I can look it next time
when I am trying to develop something new to help with my office projects.

After the first presentation, the feedback actually brought us back to the ideate stage. We then
decided to include the rewards part where we have left out and some part of my previous ideas was
reinstated, although it took a while to convince the team on what we will be doing.

I find the things that was done during the module very useful and will be looking forward to be one
of the forces of change at work, moving forward.
