Calculate the reactions at the supports of a beam

(https://beamguru.com/online/beam-
calculator/#top)
1. A beam is in equilibrium when it is stationary relative to an inertial reference frame. The following conditions are
satisfied when a beam, acted upon by a system of forces and moments, is in equilibrium.
ΣFx = 0:    HB = 0
ΣMA = 0:   The sum of the moments about the roller support at the point A:
- q1*4*(4/2) - P1*4 - (U1right *5/2) * (9 - (1/3)*5) - q2*3.5*(9 + 3.5/2) + RB*12.5 = 0
ΣMB = 0:   The sum of the moments about the pin support at the point B:
- RA*12.5 + q1*4*(12.5 - 4/2) + P1*8.5 + (U1right *5/2) * (12.50 - 9 + (1/3)*5) + q2*3.5*(3.5 - 3.5/2) = 0
2. Calculate reaction of pin support at the point B:
RB = ( q1*4*(4/2) + P1*4 + (U1right *5/2) * (9 - (1/3)*5) + q2*3.5*(9 + 3.5/2)) / 12.5 = ( 12*4*(4/2) + 255*4 + 70 * 7.33 +
10*3.5*(9 + 3.5/2)) / 12.5 = 160.45 (kN)
3. Calculate reaction of roller support at the point A:
RA = ( q1*4*(12.5 - 4/2) + P1*8.5 + (U1right *5/2) * (12.50 - 9 + (1/3)*5) + q2*3.5*(3.5 - 3.5/2)) / 12.5 = ( 12*4*(12.5 - 4/2) +
255*8.5 + 70 * 5.17 + 10*3.5*(3.5 - 3.5/2)) / 12.5 = 247.55 (kN)
4. Solve this system of equations:
HB = 0 (kN)
5. The sum of the forces about the Oy axis is zero:
ΣFy = 0:    RA - q1*4 - P1 - (U1right *5)/2 - q2*3.5 + RB = 247.55*1 - 12*4 - 255 - (28*5)/2 - 10*3.5 + 160.45*1 = 0

Draw diagrams for the beam

Consider rst span of the beam 0 ≤ x1 < 4

Determine the equations for the shear force (Q):

Q(x1) = RA - q1*(x1 - 0)
The values of Q at the edges of the span:
Q1(0) = 247.55 - 12*(0 - 0) = 247.55 (kN)
Q1(4) = 247.55 - 12*(4 - 0) = 199.55 (kN)
Determine the equations for the bending moment (M):
M(x1) = RA*(x1) - q1*(x1)2/2
The values of M at the edges of the span:
M1(0) = 247.55*(0) - 12*(0 - 0)2/2 = 0 (kN*m)
M1(4) = 247.55*(4) - 12*(4 - 0)2/2 = 894.21 (kN*m)
(https://beamguru.com/online/beam-
calculator/#top)
Consider second span of the beam 4 ≤ x2 < 9
Determine the equations for the shear force (Q):
Q(x2) = RA - q1*(4 - 0) - P1 - (U1right *(x - 4)/5*(x - 4))/2
The values of Q at the edges of the span:
Q2(4) = 247.55 - 12*(4 - 0) - 255 - (28*(4 - 4)/5*(4 - 4))/2 = -55.45 (kN)
Q2(9) = 247.55 - 12*(4 - 0) - 255 - (28*(9 - 4)/5*(9 - 4))/2 = -125.45 (kN)
Determine the equations for the bending moment (M):
M(x2) = RA*(x2) - q1*(4 - 0)*[(x2 - 4) + (4 - 0)/2] - P1*(x2 - 4) + (U1right *(x - 4)/5*(x - 4))/2*(x - 4)*(1/3)
The values of M at the edges of the span:
M2(4) = 247.55*(4) - 12*4*(0 + 2) - 255*(4 - 4) - (28*(4 - 4)/5*(4 - 4))/2*(4 - 4)*(1/3) = 894.21 (kN*m)
M2(9) = 247.55*(9) - 12*4*(5 + 2) - 255*(9 - 4) + (28*(9 - 4)/5*(9 - 4))/2*(9 - 4)*(1/3) = 500.31 (kN*m)

Consider third span of the beam 9 ≤ x3 < 12.5

Determine the equations for the shear force (Q):

Q(x3) = RA - q1*(4 - 0) - P1 - (U1right *5)/2 - q2*(x3 - 9)
The values of Q at the edges of the span:
Q3(9) = 247.55 - 12*(4 - 0) - 255 - (28*(9 - 4)/5*(9 - 4))/2 - 10*(9 - 9) = -125.45 (kN)
Q3(12.50) = 247.55 - 12*(4 - 0) - 255 - (28*5)/2 - 10*(12.5 - 9) = -160.45 (kN)
Determine the equations for the bending moment (M):
M(x3) = RA*(x3) - q1*(4 - 0)*[(x3 - 4) + (4 - 0)/2] - P1*(x3 - 4) + (U1right *5)/2*(x - 9 + (1/3)*5) - q2*(x3 - 9)2/2
The values of M at the edges of the span:
M3(9) = 247.55*(9) - 12*4*(5 + 2) - 255*(9 - 4) + (28*(9 - 4)/5*(9 - 4))/2*(9 - 4)*(1/3) - 10*(9 - 9)2/2 = 500.31 (kN*m)
M3(12.50) = 247.55*(12.50) - 12*4*(8.50 + 2) - 255*(12.50 - 4) + (28*5)/2*(12.50 - 9 + (1/3)*5) - 10*(12.50 - 9)2/2 = 0
(kN*m)
