The CP830/CP830M Weatherproof Addressable Break Glass
Callpoints are designed to monitor and signal the condition of a
switch contact which is operated by breaking a glass sheet. The
CP830M is the Marine version of the CP830. The type of alarm
generated by the callpoint is configured in ‘MX CONSYS’.
The CP830 Master Callpoint meets the requirements of EN54 Pt.
11.
The CP830 Callpoint is a weatherproof version of the CP820,
refer to publication 17A-02-CP820.
The CP830 is fitted into a standard KAC break glass callpoint
housing.
The housing consists of the front cover and mounting box. The
front cover contains the switch, glass sheet, address module
PCB and a sealing ‘O’ ring. A red LED is provided at the top
edge of the front cover providing a visual indication of the
condition of the internal switch. Cables may enter into the
callpoint via cable gland entries at the top and bottom of the
front cover. The mounting box may only be surface mounted.
The PCB is fixed to the rear of the front cover. The terminals
are used for connection to the addressable circuit.

3. OPERATION Environmental
The CP830 Manual Callpoint consists of a switch contact Operating Temperature: -25oC to +70oC
which is operated by the breaking of the glass sheet. When
Storage Temperature: -40oC to +80oC
the callpoint is addressed by the controller, it signals the
condition of this switch contact to the controller. The LED is Relative Humidity: up to 95% RH
illuminated when the switch contact is in the ‘ALARM’ (non-condensing)
condition.
The operation of the switch can be tested at any time with the Electrical Characteristics
aid of the special tool provided. This tool is inserted into the Battery requirements:
bottom of the housing thus moving the glass sheet down and
operating the switch contact. Normal: 0.46mA
Alarm: 4.5mA

The CP830 has a default factory set address of 255, this
must be set to the loop address of the device using the VOLUME 17A MX RANGE OF ADDRESSABLE
801AP MX Service Tool. The CP830 is programmed with CONTROLLERS
the address using the Programming port (see Fig. 2).
