Gender biasness
It is unequal treatment in employment opportunity (such as promotion, pay, benefits and
privileges), and expectations due to attitudes based on the sex of an employee or group of
employees

Women in Pakistan, to the social and cultural conditions, are more disadvantaged than the
women in modern western democratic societies. Educated and professional women in urban
areas who are from upper class of the society, enjoy much better status and rights than
illiterate women in rural areas. In rural areas, women are discouraged in attaining higher
education just for the sake of avoiding the time when women can lead man while in urban
areas, women are encouraged to get educated, so girls energetically join the technical courses
but after getting technically or professionally qualified they are not granted permission to
work, this is the reason we don't find girls at offices as much as we find men.

This is a major drawback as it leads a nation towards economic disaster as half of the nation
is in the form of girls and if they won't participate then economy will diminish. They are not
allowed to participate in economic activities and hence their professional qualification goes in
the bin. The story of social and economic injustice with reference to gender discrimination is
very long and it exists in almost all the societies. Girls excel in academics so more girls avail
admissions in medical colleges. After getting qualified as M.B.B.S, majority girls do not
practice due to our social factors.

In these circumstances if I belong to opposite sex than I will definitely face problems in my
career. I will be given less priority than a male candidate because people of our country think
that a woman cannot do better than a man. If women are neglected or given less chances than
I will not be able to compete in the corporate sector. If we see multi-national firms of our
country, none of their CEO’s is female because of the gender bias discrimination. People are
of views that a female can rule just in their own house but it isn’t true. If a woman can rule
her house than a literate woman can run a firm as well just like a man. If we see the MNC’s
of different countries than we come to know that a woman can be a CEO as well. This type of
biasness which is currently present in Pakistan that they support instead of woman and
neglect woman in every field of life would ruin my career if I were a woman because I will
get less salary, less benefits and incentives than a male candidate and I will be given less
chances to get promoted.
Women are doing jobs in Pakistan in almost every field but they are much less as compared
to men. Females are given chances in highly developed cities only like Lahore, Islamabad
and Karachi only. In other cities of Pakistan, women are facing much off gender biasness.

This type of gender bias culture not only affects my career but also thousands of other
females who are much more capable than men. If an organization favours gender biasness
than in long run it may affect the growth of the organization as well. Because if we have a
look on successful organizations than we can see that they are more sensitive about these
issues. In successful organizations women would be treated equal to men. Because if a
woman is better than a man at the same job than it would be an inspiration for that man to
perform better in future than woman. It would create competition between woman and man if
they are working at same level. So I think if a firm of today follows gender discrimination
than that firm cannot be a successful organization.
