Propulsion System:

Selection of Leopard LC5065-330 motor is based on the aircraft parameters viz targeted load to

be lifted and minimum take off distance and the weight constraint was also taken into the

account. Reference was taken from the thrust provided from the static and dynamic thrust

testing, for various kV values and propeller combinations, the maximum permissible current of

the ESC.

Propellers with varied parameters were analysed taking into account the required thrust for

maintaining a thrust to weight ratio between 0.5 to 1. The optimum propeller for the chosen

motor is APCE 18*10.

Static and dynamic thrust testing analysis was carried out for the motor propeller combination.

Battery:
Gens ace 6s 1p 4500mAh 60C LiPo was considered suitable as it offers a flight time of 5

minutes the decision was made taking into consideration the average time of the flight

round which is nearly 2 minutes.

DAQ:

An onboard data acquisition system was used for analysis of flight performance, which

comprised of an accelerometer, gyroscope, a flight controller for acquiring data and a

telemetry module to transmit the acquired data to the ground station.
