Show different pictures of water forms to the student and ask their ideas about
the pictures.

Questions:

3.Abstraction
Different bodies of water make up three-fourths of Earth’s surface. These can
be salt water and fresh water.
Ocean is the biggest body of salt water.
Sea is a body of salt water smaller than ocean.
Bay is a body of water surrounded by land, except for the part which connects it
to the sea.
Lake is a body of fresh water surrounded by land.
River is another body of fresh water . It flows towards the sea.
Spring is a natural source of water. It comes from the ground. It could be hot if
the place is of volcanic origin. It is usually cold if it flows down from a mountain.
Waterfall is a body of fresh water that comes from high place and falls on a river.
Pond is a small body of fresh water surrounded by land. It is smaller than lake.
Swamp is another body of water surrounded by land. It is muddy. Frogs and
mosquitoes breed in swamp.
4. Application
Look for a short poem about water form. You can also create your own
rhyme.
5. Evaluation
Directions: Follow the letter clues to name different water forms.
